Try pulling the factory filter from the canister so your not pushing fuel through 2 filters.

I have a pre pump filter at 75micron then 2 CAT filters at 2micron, then the stocker. No problems here.

Dude, I've been running this way for 20,000 miles and 600hp and never drop my fuel pressure below 20psi.... EVER.

I have no problems, was just trying to help out the guy who started this thread.

I check my pressure before my stock canister, so If I were having a flow problem through that, I would be seeing higher pressure, not lower. My pre filter is a 10 micron at the most, it's a napa gold 3033.

Today, I'm going to flow test the pump again, and check the screens on the pump to make sure that I did not pull something through the filter.

When I pulled the filter, it drained easy out of the out side, no restrictions. Canister filter was black, tho.

Do de do...

What are you reading fuel pressure with?

An Isspro... no isolator, diesel is straight to the guage. I take the reading where the stock LP used to be, off the adapter from GDP.

You forgot what I told you the 1st time you brought this up.

Here the sob story...

I have a walbro 392, at WOT I pull the pressure from 30+ PSI to 0. I hold a solid 30+ PSI until I stand on it. I can be at 3/4 throttle and see no drop in pressure. Once I let off, the FP shoots back to 30 PSI, it is not laggy.
I have replaced the lines from the out side of the pump, new bypass. I have 3/8ths line from the tank to the ff canister.

I am about to pull my tank to see if I am having problems in there, but I cannot imagine what it could be. This happens when my tank is full or empty.

I pull my pre filter and fuel runs through it freely, it's not clogged. I have changed it a few times... no love.

I am wondering if I am actually demanding more than the pump can supply, but I know guys with trucks that are modded more than mine, and they run the 392 with no problems.

I have flow tested the pump, I am getting a gallon of fuel in about 52 seconds.

So, do I need a pump that can flow more volume, or do ya think that there's a line problem? I don't want to drop the tank, that's a pain in the rear...

Thanks, DTR!

Loose the Walbro. "Can you hear me now troop". (that was a joke but thought you'd appreciate it". There are tons of guys on these forums having fuel pressure/volume problems and they are 98% running a Walbro. It's because they work great to a point in your progression of mods and then they can't do the job. Think Volume,.. not pressure. You don't need 30psi of pressure. You need 17-23psi and a ton of volume and you won't get it from a Walbro. A few guys have made the Walbro work by going with two of them but if you'd go with a 150/200 FASS or the Mitusa you wouldn't have a fuel problem. Did you change your in-tank pickup to a big hose setup? Also injectors and cp3s are expensive so I've gone to a (2),... two micron filter setup. One in the front and one in the back with the water separator and it doesn't hurt my pressure/volume needs at all. They were rock solid while at TST on their dyno. Mark Chappel was impressed that with the Mitusa the faster you go the more fuel you make,.. not like the other pumps which pull down both pressure and volume. Give him a call and ask his impression. He as big on the fact that it's easier to push fuel than pull it like the Mitusa but he had to agree that it sure did the job irrespective of his preconceived conclusions on pushing and pulling fuel. I believe he will tell you he was impressed and I set a new dyno record while on his Mustang so I think he likes my setup. Good luck.

HUH? I have read 0 posts about people having trouble with Walbro. I even searched! Not trying to change the original intent of the thread, but I gotta call a foul on that man. I've been wrong before, but I gotta see some examples..........

I think there is a little mesh screen at the inlet of the walbro, check it maybe it has a bunch of gunk built up on it? Just an idea.

My runs at 650 hp does not budge my Walbo/GDP kit. Somethign else is wrong.

I never drop more than 2 psi then recover to within 1 psi of the check valve setting.

I run 30 psi upstream of my 7 micron OEM and 2 micron Filters...27 psi post filter...never drops blow 25 psi.

When the pressure drops...the volume increases...that si how a pump stabilizes. Once the check valve is closed (pressure drops jsut below its setting) the volume demand is equal to that spot on the graph.

For me...at 30 psi...pressure drops (demand increasing) the demand is say 75 gph. if it drops to 25 psi...and stabilizes...I am using 77 gph. The steeper the curve..the better so to speak...you have a larger volume increase per drop in fuel pressure.

I may or may not need 2 walbos when my Evil Twins are pumping away this weekend...we will see. But I am not going to revamp my entire fuel system...just run another Walbro spliced in in parrallel.

Maybe you have a restriction somewhere you have not identified?

I dunno...

All of a sudden, my FP is back to normal... 30 PSI unless I am WOT.

Tell me where my restriction could be.

Draw straw in tank, 3/8ths line to pump, 3/8ths line to ff canister. GDP bypass valve infront of the pump, just like GDP says to do it.

This pump is 2 years old...

Look, lets not argue over this. I want all the posibilities that I can get.

Pat, I know what you said. I'm thinkin about it. Did you see the mechanical pump? Should I drop the dime, or get an air dog or fass?

Could it be that you dont have one of the fittings/lines put together correctly and it is sucking air when the line expands/contracts in the weather?

If you go with that mechanical pump, you loose the joy of easy priming that you have with the electric pump.

It might be that the pump you got scammed on is going bad
