SRT10 hood Should I???

I know I've been back and forth on what to do with my truck lately. I swear I want to keep it but of course if I do I have to keep making it better. I have the opportunity to get a white painted SRT10 hood CHEAP from a guy who has sold his truck and he just wants it gone. My wife says "Why don't you just go buy the new truck if you are unhappy with this one? You know you're going to eventually! Why keep spending more money on this one?" I kind of agree that that's my nature with vehicles but this is a great deal except that I have to drive 5+ hours to pick it up and then have it painted once I get it here. Either that or paint it black like the old Six-Pack hood on my 68 Road Runner I had.
Anyways, I don't know what to do. Now she's got me thinking about the new truck again!!!!

yeah, five hours from you sounds like it could be acloser to me... depending which direction it is......... srt hood sounds good to me ! I think they look sharp, not many of thm out there and it does make the truck a bit more unique. prolly good for at least 25 HP on the dyno

Definetly get it if its cheap. If you don't want it, let me know and I'll take it. Been looking for one but the cheapest I found is still $600 not painted.

Mikmaze, it's pretty darn close to you and it's a good bit cheaper than $600.00.......

Mama is telling me to quit stalling and buy a new truck before I waste anymore money on this one and then still get rid of it eventually!!!!!

As for he hood it doesnt sound like a good idea if you have a 10 hour drive ahead of you + paint cost + prics of hood. Unless your are dead set on the SRT-10 and think its the coolest thing ever.

Personally I thought they were cool when they first came out....now since lots of people out here either did the swap or bought one of thoes god awful rumble bumble bee daytona 1500's they ruined it for me. I'd hate to look like a hemi poser. Even worse would be the people that would think I had a Hemi or Hemi owners giving me thumbs up because they its their dream to own a bumble bee pickup .

But hey its you truck and if you like it thats all that matters.

As far as getting a new truck, if you think in the near future you will want one and it will be eating at you by all means get an 06 and avoid the emission nightmare in 07.

I don't really have an opinion on the hood, but I definately think you should KEEP your current truck. It is a darn nice truck, you have a ton of work done to it, and since you can't leave well enough alone, you could make that truck even BETTER if you wanted.

How's this sound to you? Get the SRT hood AND the new truck. It will fit the new '06. I removed mine from my '04.5 and put it on my new '06.

And beside's, when you get your new truck you will need to put some miles on it any way. Nothing better than a road trip to go get the hood to put those miles on.

I won't say that I have to have this hood but I have been thinking about one for quite a while. Either that or a Rumble Bee scoop to mount on this hood. Who knows? Maybe I'll keep this truck and not get the hood anyways.....
Boy, if you guys could just get inside my brain for a couple minutes you would understand what I go through.....
