SPS 66 vs Sliver bullet

I have a good idea on what the "physical" differances are on these two turbos but I am wondering if it would be worth the $ to upgrade my 66 to a SB. I am just not 100% satisfied with my egts as I am not runnin a lot of fuel compared to some guys yet I see posts where some will run a ps 62 and say that they never hit 1300*s.

So, would a SB cool me down enough to be worth the cabbage and time it takes to send it off and have it sent back or should I just deal with it till I can get twins?

Kevin just found out its a Silverbullet and has been the whole time. He first thought it was a SPS6280, then Silver 62, but come to find out its always been a Silverbullet.

Yeah, thats me,,, mr silverbullet.... Well as for egt's,, im pretty heavily fueled,, and pulling my 5er I still havent made it over 1350. Which I though was amazing for a silver62,, but no problem for a silverbullet.... lol

Oh and as for the price to convert, it is between 3 and 6 hundred US. Depends on what you get done,, if you get it upgraded, get them to make it like Barrys from NADP, he had them do some special stuff to it,, he has even less lag then I do,, and I thought my truck was pretty lag free

Kevin I cant believe after all this time its been an SB all along, kinda makes me feel better about the numbers you have put down, cause that is a lot of hp for a SB, not to mention a silver 62.

Phil, it should be cheaper for you to have yours converted than for me I think. I am waiting on a friend who is a II master distributor to get back to me on price. I talked with Shane at II ( a long time back) and got a price but it seemed kinda high to me.

Kerry, would you mind telling my why the $500 cut off?

I realize that II is in the business of sellin turbo but I may call them today and see what advice they have.

My other option is instead of a SB get my 66 turned to a 62 later and run an S400 but I dont have the $ for the pipes right now.

It just isnt that hard for me to peg my pyro and I was hopin that empty at least I would be under 1400-1450 on a 0 to 100 run but by 80 its gettin pretty hot.

Finally...the truth has been told! I was calling BS on the 62 forever.

Now things sound in check for Morkable. LOL.

I don't own any II turbo at the moment. I sold the SPS6280 before twins. Well ok I confess, I ordered a SB.

Wap,

the mods on our trucks are very similar (you have the mp-8, I have injectors), but otherwise very similar. Wide open with my silver bullet I'm seeing about 1300-1400 depending on ambient temperature. I'm not sure of the cooling differences between the two turbos, but hopefully my numbers will be a good reference for you. Are you letting the TST do the timing, or the smarty? I've seen lower exhaust temps letting the smarty do the timing- BUT, it feels stronger with the TST doing the timing.

Check out this link, it may help you out

Good info guys and now I see your point Kerry, never thought of that.

jlilbert, thanks, that is some help, I am about to make some calls and see what I can do. Dont be suprised to see a SPS 66 in the classifieds soon. I guess I better call II too just to see what they say the diff is on the two turbos.

Phil, nevermind the question in the pm, I didnt know you sold it.
