Speedo problem with 315's

I installed my 315's and went to the Dodge dealer to get the pinion factor reset. He whipped out the DRB tool, plugged it in and found the "other" setting under tire size. I watched as he entered 600 revs per mile. Now the speedo is way off. Reads 90 at 2000 RPM. What's up? Any ideas what to do next?
Thanks, Wetspirit

Sounds like he messed something else up when he made the change. 599 or 600 revs is the correct number. Take it back and let someone review his work.

What kind of twingles are you running?

bulabula,

I'm wondering if there is anything else that needs to be adjusted when setting up the pinion factor. Or anything that can get messed up accidently. He entered 600 as I watched. I guess I'd better try it again.
The Twingles are late '50's and early 60's Puch or Allstate bikes. Very dorky but fun. Do you know them?

Something isn't right....At 70mph I'm turning @1900 rpms....75mph it's right at 2000rpms, with 6spd and 3.73 rear axle. Maybe he put in the wrong rear end ratio....

Speedo update

1st dealer
Me: Can I get my pinion factor reset?
Him: We couldn't possibly do that until, maybe, Tuesday or Wednesday
Me: I'd be pretty bored sitting around here till Tuesday, thanks, later.

2nd dealer
Me: Can I get my pinion factor reset?
Him: Oh, I don't think it's possible on those? What year is it? (while he's practically bumping into the front of my truck)
Me: It's this one here, an '04
Him: Well, I'll have to ask Bill. But he's not here. The cost is $81.00

3rd dealer
Me: Can I get my pinion factor reset?
Her: We are totally booked. What was that you wanted?
Me: Pinion factor reset
Her: I'll have to ask. Hey Mike, he wants to get, what was that again? I'll look for an appointment
Me: It only takes three minutes with the DRB tool and I know the revs per mile.
Mike: What size tire do you have?
Me: they're 315's but I know the revs per mile.
Mike: Hmmm, that size can't be entered in there.
Me: I think you just go to "other" and enter the revs per mile
Mike: Hmmm.

Bla , bla , bla, road test, , 90 MPH at 1800 RPM?!, Man this traffic is really haulin.

4th dealer
Me, Him, Me, Him, "your not in our computer", "no, Im standing right here in front of you", DRB, 600revs, Bla, bla, bla, road test,

I said screw trying to explain and hold their hands in the process and bought the Superlift TruSpeed calibrator. Very painless to install and I have it almost perfect while comparing it to a hand held GPS. I made it .5 MPH less on the speedometer, just in case there was some deviation with the GPS. The box is a little costly, but it works great.
