Does anyone know what speakers are a "drop in" fit for our trucks? If understand there are only a few that can just bolt in without an adapter.

 

Go to www.crutchfield.com and you can select your make and model and it will tell you which speakers will fit.

 

I have alpine 6x9's front and 6.5" rear and they were "drop in"

 

I have Polk 6x9s in the front and Polk 5.25s in the rear doors. They were drop-ins.

 

I have all MB Quart--- 6x9 front doors, 6.5 rear doors and 5-1/4 kick panels. Had to take my saw and die grinder to the doors---- magnets were too big and frame of speakers were diff.

I put Kenwood 6x9s in my front doors. I had to put the bezel from the front of the factory speaker between the Kenwood and the door, but it was simple and only took a few minutes. Oh.... I think I remembering some soldering due to stupid factory connectors on the stock speakers. argh

 

I tried putting MB Quart 6.5 in the rear doors. There was no way they were going in without some hefty modding. I ordered some clif design 6x9 front door and 5.25 for the rears.

 

TUCO- it almost wasnt worth the fabrication. The doors dont have enough airspace to push my mids like they need to. Its ok though, I got all the premium stuff for pretty cheap.

 

edge600, did the 6x9's drop in or are they too deep? They should be here tomorrow so I guess Ill find out.

 

Had to cut and bang for them too. Its not that big of a deal as long as you dont mind hacking on your truck. Did you get the PCE's?

 

I've got CDT Audio ES-30 (Eurosport series) 6-1/2" in the front, and CDT Audio HD-53 Braxial 5-1/4" in the rear. They dropped right in, both front and rear sets, and they sound amazing in the Ram. Best I've ever had hands down. They're outrageously expensive, but still worth it. They're driven with an Audison 5 channel amp. Sweeeeet!

Nice, DIRT, are you running any subs? I havent gotten around to it yet, been running these mids and highs for about a year now. Id like to have a ported 12" somewhere, just cant think of a good way to do it.

 

I'm running one Infinity Perfect 10.1 10" aluminum subwoofer in a Q-Logic enclosure that fits nicely under the rear passenger seat, in place of the fold out grocery tray thingie. I really dig this sub! Very musical and will take anything I can throw at it, and it blends perfectly with the front and rear speakers. The Q-Logic is less than $200, and I just couldn't see paying $500+ for a custom made fiberglass enclosure.

Yep, Ive seen them. They look nice. That may be what I end up doing, Ive been debating it for a while.
