I am running 35 inch tires and want to have full size spare. Are any of you using the tiregate by Wilco? Any other cool spare tire mounts out there?

 

I run 35's also and have a full size spare. Tried putting it up under the truck once, was a tight squeeze but I didn't leave it on in fear of the cable not being able to support it. Some good a spare tire is if its sitting in my garage huh?

 

I've had my 35" spare tucked comfortably underneath and the cable is tight as can be...so far. Might not hurt to upgrade the cable to the next larger diameter.

 

My BFG 315 (34.4") spare is in the stock spare location. Had it there for about a year now with no issues.

 

I only have 33s but it is up in stock location....if worried about cable then run a small diameter chain through wheel to frame to act as security from theft and backup if the cable fails....but those cables can hold far more than the weight of all 5 tires combined.
If they fail it is usually due to corrosion or abuse....just check it when you change your oil.
