smarty vs diablosport predator on egts

i have a diablosport and i cant control egts. I could have pegged 1500 last night on economy/perf. I have been thinking about water/meth to cool things off. i could take the $$ for the water/meth kit and get a smarty if you think this will help with EGTs. i know the smarty jr egts would be lower but i want more than 100hp. does the diablosport do anything with TM?

From everything I have heard, Smarty EGTs will be much much lower, which is why I am thinking of going Smarty myself.

Watch the classifieds for a good used Smarty Sr there are always a couple in there.

Predator is junk!!!!!!! We have tested numerous different products against each other in a controled environment on the same day back to back after cool down time premitted. Predator will peg 1800 easy this was nonstacker program with x2 on pressure lvl 5. Smarty beta 4.4 with x2 on lvl 5 will hit 1650, 4.2 is a little hotter and the new race is suppose to be way low I cant wait. FYI smarty was .2 faster in the 1/4 then the diablo and .7 faster then beta bullydog tunes. Diablo's tech support is non existent and thats what did us in wont go back ever. Smarty all the way dont look back.

For the mods you have, Smarty will definitly help out on egts, and you'll be covered by Bob Wagner and Marco. Run with it and don't look back.

thanks creed, i know their tech is horrible. it makes good power but i cant even put it to the floor before the egts go thru the roof on econ, i have a Westach gauge that goes to 1500 and i get out of it as soon as i see it. i have done all the mods i know of besides new turbo and water/meth look at sig but i should NOT have this prob on a 100hp setting

i just switched from pred to smarty, and my egts are loads lower with the smarty.

with the predator on 100hp I couldn't keep it on the floor for more than 5 secs without it getting to 1400+

with the smarty on lvl7 I can keep it floored all I want and never go above 1250...

My temps with the Predator and my HTB2 turbo stay nice and cool. I never see more than 1300 degrees and that is only if I push it super hard.....

I don't know what you guys are talking about. I've gotten so many custom tunes from Diablo's guys. We've emailed each other back and forth. Top notch customer service imo. If you want to use the fuel that Diablo or any major power adder can throw into the combustion chamber, you need the supporting mods, a turbo in this case. I've run Diablo on a hot puff tune with 70hp VA setting and mild pressure XZT and never went over 1500 degrees. Made good power as you can see in my sig. And I would get really hot like you're describing with my stock turbo and perf on Diablo... quickly. So yes, you should have that problem on the 100 setting as we have the same year truck.

With the bully dog and flux 2's on my truck I can barely see 1250. Does that even sound right? Why is it every truck is different? SOme trucks get real hot real quick and others don't Some guys with the same setup as me say they can peg a 1600 degree gauge while I can't even see HOT temps.

Some have reported large differences between a mechanical guage and digital guages like I'm assuming you are using (Edge)...FYI

I have the Westach gauge i thought it was supposed to be very accurate. i cant use all the power on the 100hp setting i would be better off to have smarty jr put it on 100hp and be able to put the pedal to the floor, but i would like the option of doing the 130 and maybe the 170hp.
