Trying to update my Smarty that I ain't updated since 2008. Plug it in, memory erasing then error comes up "error erasing Smarty" and Smarty says empty memory, please update. Can someone help? I'm not real computer smart so please be nice.

Do you have to set your truck back to stock before you update?

 

No. The Smarty stores your OEM program separate from the Smarty tunes. If you haven't updated in a long time and are nervous, and want want to ease those nerves you can always go to stock then update it!

 

What sort of changes have been made? My last update was right at the first of 2012, before the update to convert the S06 to POD.

 

I hope this isn't a silly question and I hope it makes since. With all that is going on w/ Smarty and Jr., H & S. Do we (5.9 owners) have to worry about any of the programming problems since we don't have the dreaded EGR?
I'm hoping to save some money to purchase one sometime in the future (a Smarty Jr. that is).

 

I am sure, at some point, the EPA will come after any electronic controlled truck that smokes. Not if but when.
