Does anyone know if a Smarty indicates that it is VIN locked when you plug it into your PC? Or do you have to plug it into your truck to ascertain if it is? I am looking into buying one used and I don't want to get ripped off. Thanks.

 

Yes, the Smarty will still show the # sign on the startup screen when VIN locked.

It shows a # sign on either side of the top line when you first plug it in.
