Smarty TNT-R56

I've been running this s/w for a month now and I'm going to share what I've found out. I hope this information is usefull and want to point out that every truck will react differantly. Almost no one has the same mods on their truck. I liked every thing about 4.4 but the elevated rail pressure and I'm not looking for a all out racing tune. I want some thing that has good street maners but still makes serious hp. Not too much to ask. One of the first things I found is TNT-R will fuel harder than 4.4 and will drain some rails. Like mine. The power is big starting with s/w #3 and there's not much differance between levels 3 through 9. This is a race s/w. Simular to 4.4 but with more fuel. I could run 4.4 on s/w #7 or #9 and could see no differance and my rail pressure would keep up barely. TNT-R was draining my rail on anything over #3. The size of the injectors and cp3 volume will determine what you can run. With TNT-R some folks like me won't be able to run the higher settings. This is a amazing s/w that gives us many tuning options that takes little time and close attention to data accumulated. I have found a tune that's even better than 4.4 on the street and I'm noticing better fuel economy with less smoke. And still runs low 12s

I just realized it is the racy TNT. I guess since I have stock CP3 & injectors, this one is out of my league.

Cool info anyhow.
Thanx.

should be fine... I've got stock CP3 and Flux 1's... FASS 150 feeding it. I run the TNT/R on level 9 and TST on power level 4 on top of that

Getting me thinking Gary. I think I need to start loving the smoke & quit getting a pickle up me bum about it. I really want to enjoy the RPM's w/my cam & springs.

I will probably use the REVO for my camping trips this summer, towing 10k+ up the Grapevine in 100+ weather.

I still am curious what options you settled on Billy Ram.
Thanx.

Noting that no two trucks will react the same and folks prefer differant setups. I like good manners on the street with as little smoke as I can produce. Twins are better at controling smoke than a big single but I've got my smoke under control. Rail pressure plays a big part in controling smoke. I've found if you can keep your rail pressure arround 17-18K under moderate acceleration "like pulling away after stopping or turning" smoke will be moderate. Any time the rail pressure drops to arround 10-11K smoke will be heavy and you aren't making good hp. Any you mat the peddle your rail pressure is going to drop but how quickly it recovers is what counts. I lucked up with a bit of documented trial and error and stumbled on a tune that's about as good as it gets to me. I'm running #2 mild torque management,#3 timing for aftermarket injectors and #2 mild rail pressure. I don't like running elevated rail pressure for every day driving and when I want pressure I can flip the switch on the va3.1. I'm running Catcher s/w #3 and my truck cruises at 17-18K @ 70 mph. What is very good is when I am moderately accelerating for a stop or a turn the rail pressure come up instantly to 17-18K and there's little smoke. This is giving me better fuel ecomomy and I'm going to check the next tank. Still runs very low 12s and I believe when the weather cools a bit it may be faster then 4.4.

speaking of the "R" tune. I'm wondering what the latest " R " tune is ? The 56 ?

I have 53 and I'm wondering what the difference is in the two versions is.

Sorry Billy Ram... wasn't looking to change the subject on you.

I think you should get more CP3 and not worry so much about draining the rail anymore. You'll have that thing into the 11's :-)

Yes you are right. Adding another cp3 would hold the pressure through the rpms and then I'll need more air. "Twins" My 90 hp injectors seem to be flowing a bunch of fuel and I'm getting close to the 11s.

The price has come down quite a bit on the twin cp3 kits so all ready having a good stage I cp3 I would just go with the twins. May take a bit longer to install though.
