Smarty sr. and jr. questions
Smarty sr. and jr. questions
I would like a smarty Jr. But it looks like I can get a used sr. for about the same price. Are the first three levels on the sr. exactly the same as the jr. levels? I see the jr guys complaining about smoke, but not the sr. owners. Is What is different about s-04 and s-06. The Madds sight doesn't really say?
I have a 03 235 hp. truck and am not looking for the higher settings of the sr., but If a used one is the same price as a new jr. I might go that way. I just need to get more educated about the difference's.
Thanks for the help.

It all depends on what setting your running, and by that I mean if your running REVO s/w with one of four torque levels, rail pressure level, timing, waste gate I/O. Non REVO, depends on what v. of s/w is installed. So it could vary quite a bit.
like 06ram stated, there are many different setting to experiment w/ on smarty revo. i'm sure you could find one that has a nice power increase without too much excess smoke. the reason you don't hear people w/ the smarty sr complaining about smoke is probably because most people that have it run it like they stole it and don't overly care about excess smoke
s-04 only works on 2003-2005 model yrs, s-06 works on 2003-2007 5.9l model years. i guess the best way (besides using a dyno) to program it is to experiment with all the different settings and find out what feels the best for you. All trucks are different so what works for one truck might not work for another. you'll need to invest in some guages so that you can see how one setting compares to another. you could also just load up the revo and use all the default settings, that way you don't have to mess with anything. if you do decide to mess around with the different settings, your best bet is to pay attention to the warnings that are posted on mads website. ignoring them could get you in a bunch of trouble. hope this helps
