They are both grat programmers depending on how much power you want and how much you want to spend. I know alot of people go with the Jr. because they dont have any need all the power the Sr. will put out. Either way you go you cant go wrong.

Does the jr have to be programed on the comp first or what. I don't understand what you have to do with it before installation

No you just plug it into your truck and select which setting you want. You can do software updates on the computer though.

Do you have the Hot unlock? If so and thats the power you want to match get the Smarty Sr. If you don't and just want better power in the same range you have now then get a Jr.

i am wondering why you dont like the edge. i do not have any progamer myself, but was thinking the edge has the display with all the readouts and it wont take up my piller handle space. it seems to me other then the smarty not being any part of the truck thus no warrenty issues the edge has way more function and information and power possiblities.

The Smarty will run cooler and it can't be traced by the dealer. Find some old posts by "MADHAT" he has had both and he has a great review on them..

The Edge monitors aren't overly accurate when compared to analog gauges. And there are certainly much more power possibilites with the Smarty than the Edge.

The Jr will definitely give you smoother power and lower egts than everything else on the market. You can plug it in and use the 3 power power settings as is. Or you can update it to Revo and have control over TQ management, timing, etc.

It just does not impress me set on 5 which is extreme i would expect to be baking off my tires etc but i can only spin them on wet wet pavment now i didnt do the upgrades to burn tires but to me its kinda a test of the power my truck wakes up after i take off but off the line its kinda slugish and its still not like i think it should be

I agree now that I have tried the Smarty Sr. I am not impressed at all with the performance that my Edge gave me. SW #3 pulls about the same as Level 5 on the Edge. Bump up the Smarty to SW #9 and this thing is awesome. Adjust the TQ Mgmt to 4 and you just barely have to touch the go pedal before things get real exciting. bigtony55 with your mods I would think you would rather go with the SR over the JR, but that is just my opinion.
