Is there any possible way that the smarty can malfunction and leave maximum timing set into ecm even though you put the stock software into truck? My truck has a timing rattle that is more than ive ever heard in this truck and is unbearable. I've also went through 6 injectors in just over a year because they are all shorting out, what could be the root cause to this problem? Injector harness failure? ECM failure?

 

The Smarty does not really download your stock programming. It uses the latest chrysler software available, so what you put back in as stock, is not what you erased to begin with...

Try downloading stock again, with fresh batteries or hook up a trickle charger to your batteries while downloading. There should be nothing the Smarty does to cause injector solenoid failure.

The FCA on the CP3 injection pump has been known to cause rattle, maybe swap one from a different truck before you replace.

Also the new ULSD fuel rattles more, TCW3 2 cycle oil mixed with your fuel will also aid in quieting the injectors down.
