Smarty question

What setting are you guys getting the best mpg with? With added timing or stock timing am I gonna see better mpg? And is it ok to cruise on SW9 with a stock truck as long as I am not beating on it, or is it gonna ruin something?

Added timing is suppose to aid in mpg increase. As far as SW9, depends on what torque level you set it at! I wouldn't go higher than mild torque. Moderate and wild will cause the torque converter and possibly the transmission to slip.

That would depend on if you have an auto or manual. If you're not going to beat it as you stated then,sw 9 is fine, but I personally would at least monitor my exhaust temps.

Be carefull if you have a manual like me with a stock clutch. I leave mine on #6 and with a 37" tires if I don't ease into it it will slip going up the interstate ramp. Other than that on regular driving it is fine on #6. Now #9 is a whole different animal. Watch your EGT!

Ya, I have a 6 speed with a stock clutch for now. Just trying to get a few bills paid before I buy a Southbend. I have a boost, pyro, and rail pressure gauge on the way. But ya I keep all the torque management levels on default. I haven't messed with any of the torque levels or rail pressure or any of the stand alone things yet and I plan on just leaving them at the default settings. I seem to be getting the best mpg on sw9 so thats why I asked if it would hurt anything to cruise with it on.

I am getting 21-22 mpg on the overhead driving around town here on SW9 and it's still going up little by little. I havent calculated to see if it's really in that area but I'm happy with it.

I have the 4.11 w/ Wild TQ and i run mine on no higher than SW5 as i have a stock clutch, i have been thinking of sticking SW9 on it just to see but i know how i am and i can slip my clutch at will now...so i reckon i'll leave it were its at, i also pulled my friends pulling truck this weekend and got crappy milage on SW5, there was a constant haze out the tail pipe the whole time, it pulled like a train with no dissapointments, but my milage went south ina hurry, next time i'll drop it down to SW3 and see what happens, i weighed in at around 20,000lbs!
