I tryd a smarty S-06 on my 03 truck today that a buddy had on his 05.. when i plug it in hit ecm update turned the key on . it would say" Sws not available. pls enter yr 03." ....does anyone know why its saying that is it still locked to another truck or is something eles messed up??

 

What program is loaded on the smarty?

This is just a guess but it sounds like he has one of the older programs loaded for the 04.5 engines and up.

In the old days, prior to REVO, there were two program sections, one for 03-04 and another for the newer trucks.

 

im not sure what version is on there, he bought it in march of 09..he said

 

you need to get on mads electronics site and download the software for the 03-04 trucks. he has the 04.5-07 programming

That is the beta 4.4 with the speed limit option, I believe. This is the one created after a Chrysler re-flash that basically would not allow older betas to work. There is a sticky concerning this.

Anyway, you obviously can't use it, so download a Revo file for your year truck from the website and enjoy.
