I know that the Smarty is really performing well on all years of trucks, and that the Predator seems to work best for the early CR crowd. My question is, is the Smarty that much better than the Predator, as its almost twice the money? Any feedback is much appreciated. Thanks

 

I don't think you can even compare the two. The Smarty would be my choice.

I was wondering since Kevin (morkable) put up some crazy numbers using a Predator. Ive got a buddy with a Smarty so I can try it for nothing, but I dont know anyone who has a Predator.

 

Smarty all the way. One of our DTR members recently did a dyno (or was it track?) head to head with Bully Dog TD (crazy [scary?] larry I think), Diablo predator rkl and Smarty. Smarty outdid them all. And the way I remember that story was that the Diablo reps in attendence just walked away shaking their heads. Even if they were all the same, I would be using Smarty or Bully Dog just for the service I see those folks giving here. That, my friend, is invaluable.

Yah I think that was Creed! I want a DL just to make my truck faster! Ive got lots of power with the TST and MP8 (X2 if I like it as well as the MP8), so im not really looking for alot more HP, just more usable power.

 

Diablo's customer service is horrible. That makes the Smarty worth the extra $$$

 

I really believe that if you get a Smarty, just run the regular programs, you'll end up just leaving the other stuff off except at the track and dyno day. At least, that is what happened to me.

smarty junior would be more comparable to the predator. Do your research then buy once .

You won't regret it, it'll definitely make a believer out of you. And Smarty is the ONE programmer I think is actually WELL worth the money.

 

I have a Diablo. It does make great power, but it smokes so much it is an embarrassment (for me). On my 06, and some others, the idle slowly gets very rough. Diablo told customers to unload & reload again and it will go away. So the idle will slowly get rough, but Diablo wants people to just reboot every once & a while instead of fixing the glitch.

Definitely get the smarty or smarty jr. The only company with good customer service.

 

Once I get a tranny, I'm going to do both, Smarty's on the Christmas wish list. No complaints about the predator though, I wouldn't have a tranny if I started with Smarty, self restraint is just something I don't have.
