Ok installed the mp-8 today and works fine. i have the smary 4.2 on sw7 and the mp-8 on 50%. when WOT at 50% the RP will only hit 24K max and with the mp-8 at 100% WOT RP will only hit 22-23 max but it will get to that psi faster than just the 4.2 but with 4.2 only it will het 25K WOT.

BUT my turbo is not liking me right now. my EGT's get hot fast i think i can run the 1/4 mile but will be around 15K when i past the line. so now i will get the turbo in and then i need to upgrade the stock down pipe so if anyone has a 4" downpipe that they don't need let me know what you want for it.

Thanks,
Eric

THe 3.5" to 4" stock downpipe mod really doesn't help that much, what turbo are you looking at?

so its safe to say with a stock turbo the mp-8 egt's are pretty harsh? what about with a stock turbo and 5" exhaust?

I'm gonna do the same turbo as RIP 112 has. And in order to go to the bigger turbo i need the 4".

Paroxysym: Even with the 5" i think it will still get too hot, but i did kill a d-max today on 50%

I have the 4" down pipe, but I will admit I'm still on the 3.5" elbow. Doesn't really seem to affect it, maybe a little quicker spool and slightly higher egts, but no power difference. One day I will get to putting a 4" on off a 04.5.

I keep mine on 50%, definitely noticeable, I think you will find it refreshing when you put it on. It woke the 4.4 up a bit for me. I'm trying to get 4.3 right now; things must be busy.

im sure i will find it refreshing. but how refreshing will my turbo/egts find it? right now with the 5" and my smarty jr i rarely see over 1000. i take it that number will increase drastically with the mp8, even on 50%?

Well it shouldn't increase your egts by 500* if that's what you're thinking. I'm thinking you will see 1300-1350* but that's not terrible.

Like I said, I noticed a considerable difference on 4.4 sw 5 which is a pretty peppy program by itself. I think you will see good gains without having to set it on 50%, just tune it in and keep an eye on everything, find its limit and stay below it.
