Smarty JR or wait?
Looking at buying Smarty Jr. Should I wait till any bugs are worked out? or will there be updates to it? Im a newbie when it comes to engine mods, dont know much about it at all. Just want some extra power nothing huge. Any risks of screwing up the ecm or anything with progammers? any advice from you veterans (old timers) would be nice.

You can also update files as they refine them, which makes it even better. Smarty Jr was a long wait, but its worth it because they took their time on it.

just do it!
my take on programer vs box.
programer: able to fully remap presure / timing / duration tables
in english: able to optimise power / economy / egts all at the same time
box: fools stock ecm into doing what you want, all still based on stock peramiters
in english: lieing to the ecm can produce power etc, but its crude and ineficent.
