Smarty Jr Question

I just installed a Smarty Jr (set at SW-1, TM-2, TQ-4 & POD 99 for towing) and I have a couple of questions. The truck runs strong with little smoke, except when accelerating hard and this is brief. Does 40 HP make that much difference? Also, there is a bit more engine rattle, is this common?
Thanks John

I have it set on the maximum settings and the most my truck will ever do is haze at WOT...Runs very clean and it made a huge difference vs stock. Yours being an 06 I highly recommend EFI Live.

Mopar1973-Thanks for your reply. Personally, I wouldn't pay that much for an EFI tuner, no matter what it did. Thanks again John

check to see if you have the latest software. when you first plug it in, for about 10 seconds the version will show, it should be 5.14b. if not download and install. the setting you have it on now is the best for you and will get about 2 mpg increase, 250* lower egt and cleaner oil. try tm3 for a day. i think it will reduce rattle.

Backing off your timing should help with the rattle. Running the torque management setting you are probably won't let you feel much of a difference with SW1, but it is the best for towing. Put TQ to default setting and you will notice the 40hp. Go to SW3 and you'll really notice it

Thanks for your replies. I have the 514b download and I will try TM-3 for the rattle. I won't go higher than SW-1 due to a stock 48re. John

carl48-Will changing from TM-2 to TM-3 hurt my mileage or EGT's?
Thanks John
