Smarty Jr(now with PoD) or S06 PoD

What is the major difference here. i've looked at the website, and from what i can tell it really only looks like the s06 has 7 more tune options at your disposal and the speed limiter. is there any other difference that would make the s06 worth the extra coin? if not the Jr looks like the way to go for a guy like me. if both can use the same software then i wouldn't even think about the s06.

thanks in advance to all you smarty gurus.

The primary difference is the Smarty Jr has power options to around 100hp and the Smarty Sr has power options up to and beyond 230hp.

Since you are taking care of the high priority and high $$$ issue already, the tranny that is, you would then be able to take advantage of the higher HP that the s06 offers. A stronger lift pump and DIY or mild cp3 mod will take you to about 500rwhp.

Comparing the 100 and below tunes, because if you want more than 100 hp the Sr is your only option, the differences are..

Timing. Jr timing is geared around reducing smoke. With your 06 smoke may be an issue, so you can back the timing down. The Jr timing can be dialed in to your needs, even if you have aftermaket injectors.. thou thats not the name of a timing profile like on the Sr...

TQ Management is the biggest difference. The Sr has mild, moderate, wild... The Jr has mild, milder, mildest. I like the Jr options best becuase I tow and spend a fair amount of time on dirt roads. I run the TQ on the mildest setting most and it still 100% better than stock.

PoD, both the Jr and Sr have(the Jr will any day) PoD, or Power on Demand. Smarty's on the fly adjustment tool. The Jr is capable of having the PoD software without modification, the Sr needs a paid for upgrade.

wow, great info. i see now that i thought you could get big tunes for the jr it just couldn't carry as many at a time. i guess i was wrong. what makes the timing profiles so much better on the jr? what is it that the Sr can't do with timing? yeah, that is quite cool that the PoD option on the Jr is just as simple as an upgrade and it cost more on the S06. either way, great info.

I wouldn't say the timing is better on the Jr, just a little different. (And it may be similar just labeled different)...

In fact you could probably relabel the Jr timing as follows (just a guess)

TM1: Stock
TM2: Default
TM3: For Aftermarket Injectors (less advance than 2)
TM4: For maximum fuel economy (more advance than 3)

What do you mean by that? The Jr is essentially SW1, SW3, and SW5 from the Sr..

i mean that you can get better mileage with the jr timing options. either way, it sounds like the S06 is the way i'm going to go. you guys have answered my questions well enough to make my decision.

TM1: Stock
TM2: Default
TM3: For Aftermarket Injectors (less advance than 2)
TM4: For maximum fuel economy (more advance than 3)or is it more that 3 and 4 are less then 2
This is what makes things confusing to us non engineer types.
If TM3 is less then TM2 and TM4 is more then TM3 does that now make TM4 less then TM2 as well. making TM2 being the highest TM??, So TM3 would be least, TM4 more and TM2 most.
As I said before, we are simple minded folks. God love ya Marco and Bob but 0-5 would be the simplest way 0 being stock or just below and 5 being all she's got captian. Cause when I see 0-5 I just want to know is 0 the highest or 5. Anyway thanks guys I love this thing.
