I already know I want a Smarty jr and an all in one in cab monitoring set-up. What I don't know is a good place to get them. Does the edge come as a monitor only w/out their downloader? I'm not real sure who else makes an all in one monitor. I'd appreciate a little guidance on the monitor type and a place to buy both.

Yes, the EDGE attitude monitor is available separately as the Insight http://www.edgeproducts.com/products.php?p_cat=59.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe the Commander from Quad fits this bill. The Attitude Monitor only plugs into the EDGE "box"...hence the name EDGE with Attitude. Now the "Insight" is a different story...

The stand-a-lone monitors out there are the Commander, Outlook, Insight, DashHawk (same as insight), and a few others geared more towards the street-racer scene if I remember correctly. The Commander is great but they are having problems with the kit that reads rail and fuel pressure right now. The Outlook works good also but if you have a "boost-fooling" chip, it will display the incorrect boost. The Insight and DashHawk aren't really worth the money in my opinion. They look nice (always liked the Attitude monitor), but they display some off-the-wall boost numbers and there are some bugs in the software that I have heard about. The Attitude works great, but unfortunately it only works with the Juice module installed.

If you want a monitor and need one now, I'd get the Commander. The prototype pics of the "new" Commander looked awesome but Quad himself told me they were having issues getting everything to fit right so they were most likely a no-go for the time being. Maybe in the future though.

The only things I feel I HAVE to monitor are pyro and boost. I guess I could go mechanical instead.

Now, where are all these people buying the Jr?

I'm in the same boat but have an auto trans and concluded standard gauges would do best. I already have the smarty jr and will be installing a pillar mount EGT and a trans temp to keep an eye on things. I haven't found my source for them yet. Any suggestions?

Ordered the Quad Commander (geno's) and the Jr (DTR store). Thanks for the help. I'm sure I'll need more.

BTW xyzer...they had a BUNCH of different gauges on Geno's site FWIW.

The DTR Store has the Commander, Jr, pillar mount, and anything else you'll ever need. If you don't see it online call Lary and I'm sure he'll hook you up. Remember, DTR members get the best pricing!

yea...I just found the commander there. For some reason, I keep forgetting there's a store here. Most forums don't have that set-up. Gotta remember to look here first.

How would one call Larry? I'm looking for bags and didn't see them in the DTR store.
