Smarty jr 5.14
This new update is awesome. The throttle response is unbelievably fast now. I took AH64ID's advice and updated my Smarty jr to 5.14 and changed the tune to SW1,TM2,TQ4, POD99. Very smooth too. I'll check MPG's this weekend. I'm going on a little road trip, but no towing though.

Agreed ! Strangely it also got rid of my drone right around 68 mph but it does seem to smoke a little more for me on SW1,TM2,TQ2, gonna try lowering the timing setting. Just a FYI for those that dont know yet, with the new update the default timing (# 2) is now the highest one.

Road trip mpg results are in. 20.59 mpg. From Reno to Sacramento and trips back and forth in Sac. Then back over the hill to Reno. Needless to say, I was very satisfied with the results. Never went faster than 70 mph, but did push it at times, when going uphill to pass slow traffic.

straight from MADS :
• The default timing (# 2) is now the highest one.
Timing # 3 is less timing advance than # 2.
Timing # 4 is less timing advance than # 3.

My will still black out intersection it you get on it at a light. Was hoping that would have gone down some. Otherwise smoke is down on day to day driving. Maybe turbo upgrade time to help move the air.

I wasn't real happy with the last tune so I was a bit leery of this one.
I must say, unless it's the 3/4 tank of diesel fuel i put in, this tune is real nice.
I've run two different settings, and it seems to run smoother than it has in ages.
The power band seems to be spread out across the RPM range and very consistent.
I will be on the road the next couple of days so we will see.
So far, I really like it.

Maybe I should have said, "No noticeable smoke issues under normal acceleration conditions."

Just sold my 98 and bought a 05 so I'm interested in the smarty. One thing I don't understand about the smarty timing maybe someone can help. My 12 valve was set at 15 degrees. So the higher the number there is more timing. How does the timing work on the smarty as far as numbers or degrees. all I no is #2 for the most timing followed by higher numbers for less timing. And what is to much timing for a 3erd gen? For example a 12 valve set at 21 is pretty high.
thanks
