Bob,

The Smarty says "Memory Error" and the Computer says "Error on Smarty 0" and below that "Error Sending Data to Smarty" and below that I can chose the "ok" button.

I am sure this was caused by something I have done...or my infested computer that I crank out engineering on all day.

I also did not return the truck back to stock (remove SW5) before attempting to upgrade. My common sense now tells me I should have done that...but in the excitement to try something new...I spaced. I did not see anywhere in the instructions that said I had to restore the program...but it seems like I should have????

duh

If I plug the USB back into the Smarty it says " Empty Memory-Please Update "

OUCH! I guess I am the Beta for stupid people....

I will be back in the office all day manana...

505-379-2750 Thanks!

Thanks Bob, Marco, and Stefano for the quick and easy fix. I gues there was just a fluke thing...downloaded a different file...and it worked great!

Off to test the new version 3 software!

Bob,
I updated the new Mild TM program #2. The throttle response is sooo much better, the shifting w/ the auto tranny seems to be alot better, like in stock form. One thing I'm now noticing under hard excelleration is a popping from the engine, and when this happens the exhaust pops out a puff of black smoke, even while it's spitting out a real good haze of soot, it will pop out a black cloud or two, then keep on rollin'. Any ideas?? This is happening w/ the Smarty only, nothing else adding fuel.
Thanks,
Tom

I'm reading the install instructions for smarty. If i understand right, there are 10 levels to load into the factory ecm. these are not adjustable on the fly correct? so i have to load 1 based on the abuse I expect to dish out. is there one best suited for towing, and one best suited for fogging intersections, etc?
i love new toys.
