Smarty beta 4.4 - back to wild
I've had the beta 4.4 in for a while now and couldn't help but remember how much I liked the wild software for aftermarket injectors and aftermarket turbo. I loaded the wild software on Mad's site and noticed the following differences:
1. Wild spools the turbo noticably better than the beta version
2. Once spooled, the beta has much much more top end power
3. TST stacked with beta does nothing. (On the dyno I lost 6hp stacking the tst all while maintaining 23k at the rail)
4. TST stacked with wild makes all the difference in the world. I'm not sure which makes more power, beta alone or wild stacked with smarty. It's almost like the beta program is doing exactly what the tst was doing hence no difference with tst stacked.
5. Wild program, pressure stedily climbed to about 24k under wot.
6. Beta program almost instantly jumps to 24k and stays there.
7. Idle with wild 7k. Idle with beta, 9k.
8. Cruising rail pressure wild, 17,18k. Cruising with beta 21,22k.
9. no noticible difference in starting, engine noise, or anything else.
10. As many have already reported, beta throttle seems very linear
11. Wild program is much more touchy and sensitive. I would say the beta is more of a moderate torque management program.
I'll be loading the beta again until Bob sends me the race tune for christmas

Dear Santa Wagner,
We have all bin good little diesel heads this year, and were hoping that the new race tunes would be ready for christmas. If they are, we promise too be good little boys and girls again next year. I will also leave out pretzels and beer instead of the tired old milk and cookies this year.
Signed,
The good little girls and Boys of the diesel world.
LOL

Santa Wagner,
I've been kinda good this year, I've lied a little, maybe fogged out a few people. I might even of broke the speed limit a time or two, but that's kinda your fault for bringing me the 4.4sl and making me test it to see if it did remove the sl. So actually S.Wagner, you owe me!
