Will a second gen smarty clear codes on a 3rd gen truck??? My brother's truck has a check engine light on & I was wondering if I could clear it with my 2nd gen smarty??

 

dont know for sure but the smarty would not interface with my truck but did clear codes 3rd gen smarty and my truck is a 3rd gen

 

We only need it to clear codes. So you are saying it will clear codes with no problem, thanks Stang...

 

Before I sent in my 2nd gen SMARTY, I had a code pop on my 03, I tried to read it with the SMARTY, but it would not interface with the 03. SAid something about not finding the right file or something. I do not remember. SO I just read the codes with the odometer. It turned out to be a high boost code form the Banks 6 Gun.

Mine would not.

 

Just tried it and no go! Worth a shot anyways, thanks guys...
