Single vs. twin question

If you could go with a single turbo or a small set of twins what would you do to support 600-650 hp. Question because I have a project in mind and don't know if i want to put BD tow twins (have used set given to me) or trade for a good single. What single would spool good, support 600-650 be a daily driver and tow with good egts.

Twins will get you a better powerband and support the power better.

If you want a single, I think the 64-71-13ss will get you there, but it probably won't spool as good as twins.

If you already have the twins, is there any question?

Well a used set of BD twins fell in my lap today and i have a protect 03 with similar mods as my daily driver but want to get there (600-650 on a single). I was told a few people hit 600+ with the tows from BD. If its possible i may stay with the twins.

You may need to get you a bigger secondary, I think the tow twins were more comfy below 600hp egt wise. You can look at an II SPS. The 62-71-13ss would get you close.

You seem like you would rather do a single, so if that's the case sell the twins or trade me LOL!

Yeap i wanted a single for the project. I may dump then and get a single and another pump. I still think I have heard a few guys hit mid 600's on the BD twins. Not sure what to freaking do

I would be more than happy to take those twins off your hands if the price is right. P/M me a price if you are interested in selling them and I can even meet you close to your house to pick them up and give you cash.

I went big single for my dd and play truck as well. Depends on who u talk to. The ones that run a single love it and the ones that run twins love them. Less of a headache IMO to run 2 turbos instead of 1. Im going to make a post and give my thoughts around April next year when i can finish it up

I made 722 on the BD tow twins and my buddy made 726hp. I'm sure I could have made 750 with them (though I wouldn't advise it). Egt's got warm in a big hurry, and boost pressure was pretty high, but the setup was explosively responsive and it was very quick at the race track.
You can always upgrade to the R-700 setup later.

You don't need dual CP-3's for 650hp.
A single Floor-It stage 3 will handle up to Flux 5.0's (850+hp).
Flux 2.5's will easily get you to 650.

A single turbo makes no sense at all dude....Big singles are for guys that have never owned a twin set!

It depends on the twins you run re: the EGTs

I ran a set of MPI twins. 64/71/13ss and a S480. I could have thrown my EGT gauge away. Not a problem towing or racing. They were super, IMO. I also added a 40mm wastegate.

Rowland's truck made 721 HP on the dyno weekend before last with BD tow twins... the aftermarket CAC and 304SS Intake Horn helped, as did the Helix 2 cam we installed.
I think a little water to help with EGT control...

It's the most responsive twin-turbo truck I've driven to date.
