single vs dual exhuast need help!!
I really like the look of dual exhaust but im still running stock turbo for right now and got money in my pocket for a 5 inch exhaust(somthing else i dont need yet), or do i need to just run a single 5 inch exhaust.
I have looked for an hour and seen that flo pro is a nice system and not that expensive either. will the 5 to dual 4 work or would it be better to run a full 5 inch dual exhaust. Anyone having any fitting issues and real bad drone out of them.

I am a little lost, if you like the duals then run them. I ran a 6" for over 2 years, and loved the sound. I kind of miss it now that I am only running a dual 4". I have not noticed any real problems in switching to the smaller exhaust. I absolutely love the quietness when it comes to in cab daily driving, but when it comes to showing off... The 6" was the best!
I actually just added the Flo-Pro 4 inch dual exhaust...

I have the FloPro 5" x 4" Dual system on my truck, and love it. Sounds cool when you stand on it and I don't find it has any drone loaded or empty.
I put it on when the truck was stock (but had gauges installed) and immediately had a drop of 100* on the exhaust and a 0.5mpg increase in fuel economy.
Fit is excellent, only took about 1.5hours on a hoist for FloPro to install at their plant.
As far as needing it, probably not, but do it if that is what you want.
If you look at big rigs their engine are about 3 times the displacement (around 13 to 16liter) and the engine manufacturers only require a single 5" exhaust system and when they put dual stacks on it is still only a single 5" downpipe with a Y-pipe underneath feeding dual 5" mufflers. So exhaust flow on a 5.9liter should be adequate with even a 4" system.
Enough
, if you like the look of the duals and have the money DO IT!, if you want to save a few bucks go with the single.

Just a few things to ponder.
1) Your down pipe inlet is 4". Unless you change out the cast turbo to down pipe portion, you still have that neck down.
2) Your Cat is 4 in 4 out. Unless you loose your kitty, you'll still have that restriction.
My opinion is that if you still have those two restrictions in your system, you gain nothing from a 5" system, except for braggin' rights.
Torque will be reduced by opening up your system. I went with a single 4", and lost the kitty, and I believe that I lost some low end grunt.

Wow, thats quite a bit of work. Did you ventillate it really well while welding? I dont know much about 'cats, but arent they lined with some metal that likely puts off bad fumes? I only say this 'cause it looks as though manufactures do not weld them together.
It's a looks thing.
And what about stacks? Are they pointless also?
How many hot rod's have you seen with a 1 1/2" single exhaust? Heck, my '66 Nova had dual 4" side pipes from the headers back to the SuperTraps. And how many rice burners have you seen with dual fart cans?
One of which is just hanging there for looks?
