I just did stacks on my dually and holy mother mary of god it's loud. I'm already sick of listening to the raspy 3rd gen sound though. Seriously thinking about converting to a 24v exhaust manifold and re-piping the turbo. Other than that I love my stacks. Hope to see everyone in H-Town Saturday.
I Totally Agree

I used the Aero Turbine 5050XL on my single. The sound is very good and outside the truck it is not nearly as loud as it is in the cab. Mine does calm down to acceptible level once you have hit cruising speed and when it does there is no drone. But acceleration is pretty loud and I don't even want to think what towing a real load would sound like in the cab.
I didn't go into every freakin' detail. I've work around a machine shop (it's located within the companies property where I work at). Like I said, I can make my own clamp ALOT cheaper!!!
Why do you and others have to try and make people on this forum look like fools?? I was just agreeing with the person on the price of the clamp. Ya know some of the high prices is because some will pay that. It's just like the housing market, the bidding wars-paying way too much and now can't pay the mortgage payment.
This is all I'm going to type on this person's thread. Just try and respect others opinions and ask questions 1st before you call someone a dummy or worse. If you have more to say, pm me.

I totally agree! With $10,000 - $20,000 worth of machine, lathe, mill, laser cutting, polishing equipment. Then a shop/garage to install and power the equipment, experience using all of it and a little time(45 minutes might be a little optimistic) you can probably produce close to the same thing. That quality aluminum block might be closer to $75 though. Not sure you can match the precision of CNC machine, but that is dependent on skill and not necessarily machine.

On the cost of machinery, depends what company's name is on it. It's costly to say the least, but after awhile it's paid for and many times over depending on products/prices.
Everytime I see people putting stacks on and think that they look so cool, I really want to put a 6" or 7" miter cut stack on my dually. But then I hop in my buddys with stacks, and their is soot in the cab, all over leather, all over the truck and not to mention that it makes a really bad mess in my shop!
So needless to say that truck gets pulled out of the shop before it is fired up.
But man they look cool and sound sweet!
Also sweet job on your stack!

Here are a couple of videos from the DHRA event, to far away to tell anything but I will get one done.
