So you just get tone out of it? In your opinion, does it sound good?!?

IMHO it sounds GREAT. I love the sound of mine spooling up. Just removing the ring won't allow you to notice it that much, in my experience you need to also gut your intake tube. Also adding a better intake such as AFE, or K&N or the "whistler" will also help. Do all three mods and you'll really be able to hear it!!

It sounds awesome! Especially if the whole intake is redone. Take it out but keep the ring in case after driving it you don't like the whine of it. Mine starts sounding like a jet at about 1000-1100rpm and keeps climbing, with my custom 6" twin intake. Go for it, give it a try....got nothin to lose!

1, way easy. Remove the down tube from the airbox to the turbo, with a small flat screwdriver pry out the keeper ring and the silencer ring should fall out. Be careful not to scratch the turbo housing. Put the downtube back in place. If you search on here for silencer ring removal, some guys have pics of it that should make you a little more comfortable about it. Good luck.

You will need a flat screwdriver and about 3-5 minutes

Agreed with the two above. Flat head screwdriver, and about 5 minutes.

Don't forget the 7mm socket to remove the intake tubing to get to the ring

What are the chances of messing something up? With the removal and driving without it in there? Hopefully none @ all...

Easy to do and makes rice burners with their windows down turn and look then cry that your turbo sounds better than theirs.

0, Zilch, NADA. Dodge puts it in there only to reduce noise.

Well said.....Couldn't agree anymore. Love the sound and love looking in the rear view at the little fellas through the smoke.
