Does a 1999 have a silencer ring?I can't seem to find one.

 

Yea 99's have silencer rings. It should be right there at the inlet of the turbo.

 

I just pulled (actually used the Dremel to cut it out) mine out. I will tow tonight or tomorrow. I listened as my wife pulled away and could hear no difference. Maybe it will be different while towing. Next I think is going to be the Hypertech deal.
P.S. Don't forget to plug the sensor back in on the intake tube. My yellow engine light is on. Guess I get to pull the wires.

 

Yes, took mine out a while back(same truck as yours) an i like it. But be sure to clean the inside of your turbo every now an then, it gets kinda dirty without the silencer ring.
