Shredded fan belt

Put my race box on today, took her out for a good stomp came back and heard a strange noise and the fan belt was shredded on the front half. The defrost was on so maybe when the ac compressor kicked in it did not like it.Just ordered a new 61.00 belt.

This is NOT related to your box. Go to the Engine forums, do a search on my name, T-7 Firefighter + belt, and you will find several threads. Same over on TDR. Mine went at 5400 miles on a stock engine.

This has been a recurring issue on the 04s and up.

$61.00 you got hosed!! You can go to any napa and buy one for around $40.00 that is "lifetime guaranteed" if there is a number on the belt when it finally does give up you get a new one for free!! thats the one that is on my truck

Over on TDR, there was a thread posted by Sag2, a DC tech, that there *may* be a TSB issued soon about the belt-shredding problem some of us have experienced.

Hey Underwood, how has your replacement belt been? No more shredding issues? Just wondering.

Good to hear it. They never did diagnose what did it, did they? Just like mine.
