Should I get the 2" leveling ket or do a 4.5 or 6" lift?

ok, you pretty much have a setup I want:

*5" lift
*Moto Metal wheels
*315s
*3.73 (stock)
__________
Tell me what you dont like about your setup and what you would change

Interesting, perhaps I'll stick with BFGs then.... I was thinking of trying something different, but then again why try something new if the BFGs work.

BFG's are great. My roommate has 35" mud terrains on his 05' and has no broblems. Rides great and with 20k on them they still look new. DONT GET SWAMPERS. A few people I know have them and they are hard to balance and wear very fast. Those truxes are the best though. But BFG's are better. Or Nitto or Toyo. E rated tires would be your best bet. Lorenz makes a 2.5" fronts spring for $400 a pair and a 1" leaf pack for the same price. THen all you need are shocks. Maybe a steering arm and upper and lower controll arms. All can be easily purchased for about the same as the tuff country lift and be 1000 times better.

Did you have the 285/70-17's? C-rated, D-rated or E-rated?

Lots of folks having DW problems with the BFG's. I've had 37" Swampers on my truck for several years, they balance fine and I'll get about 50K out of this set....I'm at about 35K now.

As for Lorenz's coil.....you can get the same coil for ~$200 shipped from Coil Spring Specialties (with the CORRECT spring rate) and replace the stacked spacers on the back with a 2" block.

Do you know what that rate would be?

I have 35" BFG M/T's and the 2" Daystars on my truck and have no problems. Also added the Rancho RS9000X shocks after I did the leveling kit. Not sure about the post saying that the rear will sag with a load on, but when I hooked my boat up to the truck which weighs about 6k, the rear didn't sag too much. I have had other BFG's on this truck, and at 20k they still do look new.

i concur...i haven't decided on what i want to do with the rear yet. i have a set of 4" blocks, but i'm not sure i want to use them. plus, i haven't found a drop hitch low enough that i feel is safe enough to pull my boat.

later, dustin

400-440lbs/in, depending on what shock you want to run. 2" body or smaller shock, I'd go toward the upper end. If you plan on running a 2.5 or bigger, you can go lower if you have the shock valved right.

I run a 360lb coil, but my shocks are valved for them.

Cool, thanks for the info. Eventually I want to pick up a 2" taller than stock spring with a quality set of shocks, Kings or Foxes, and level the truck out. I'll put this info in my pocket and use it later. Thanks!

I'll say two things.

1) Tuff Country sucks, and that price sucks, you can do much better for that price

2) You will hate the Super Swamper STS tires, they do not know how to make a round tire. I like BFG's but I do plan to run the Toyo MT next
