I looked in your gallery.

Your beagle looks exactly like mine. They could be identical twins - same markings.

Question: I've never seen the Scotty air system in person. Your picture of the system looks very small - smaller than the stock air box. Do you notice a difference w/ this system? Have you noticed a decrease in EGT's?

Percy the beagle... she came from www.petfinder.com, she was a street survivor rescue dog. Her favorite play/chew toy is the 60 lbs Old English Sheepdog we also have.
The Scotty is not that small IMHO, and I liked it because it draws some air from out front. I noticed a big difference with this BUT... I also added a full 4" Banks exhaust and a TAG at the same time, cool blue and aeroturbine were just added to complete the air in and out package. My EGT's while towing the 5ver with the Edge on 3 stay around 1150 on the hills we have here in the northern part of Michigan. This was also before the aeroturbine and cool blue were added. Before all that, stock with only the Edge, the EGT's would hit 1350 and still be climbing on the same hills and of course, I had to let up, now I just watch and let the cruise control do its thing. And by now you realize that I'm very happy with my set-up, as probably most are with what ever they are running. Truck goes to the dealer Monday for some TSB's and check out small oil seepage from the breather tube, then the Edge will be reinstalled and stacked with the TST. Should prove to be interesting when the 5ver comes back out of the barn.

YES, I do. I placed the TAG in the hose then shoved the hose on the turbo, this set the TAG to the right depth, removed carefully and clamped the TAG in place.

Greenz, the round filter inside the Ram Air 3 has a much larger surface area then the stock 'brick' filter.

I found out another good thing about the two stage foam I use besides 7ppm and lower silicon results from folks using this system...When in rain or snow, this filter can take it whereas a paper filter will be destroyed or seriously compromised and in need of a replacement.

In addition to that, it was pointed out to me by Don M that the forward facing Ram Air design helps reduce the drive pressure on the turbo when rolling down the highway at 70 mph.
Something I never considered before.

That Don M. guy acts like he knows something!

Do the TAG and the cool blue hose offer any more reduction in EGT versus the stock air tube and no TAG? I've been comtemplating a purchase of the cool blue hose, but for the extra money it seems that the whole kit of blue hoses for the intercooler wouldn't be such a bad thing.

I'm not using a RA3 or Cool Bluehose at this time. I am still testing the Shaker.

Why doesn't that surprise me? That shaker is absolutely psycho, however I dig it.
