SB or Haisley DD clutches
I am going to buy a clutch and don't know which one to buy South Bend DD or Haisley DD street drag. I tow around 10k, I like to race those maxipads and powerjokes around town. I wounld also like to take it to the drag strip ever now and then. I only have a qaud race box now but would like to grow maybe a bigger turbo and tst stacked or something around that nature. I have been known to be a little rough on my stuff but not to bad. Any suggestion on which would fit my needs better and any personel experience.

I have the SB 3650 12cb DD clutch. It's a little hard on your leg, but the holding power is out of this world! I've done hundreds of 3rd gear 4x4 launches when drag racing, and quite a bit of sledpulling as well. I think the Haisley is easier on your leg, and maybe a little more streetable if you never plan on sledpulling. The SBC clutch has the superior Borg & Beck style pressure plate, that's why I picked it...

i have the haisley drag twins and absolutely love it. however if u want to do some sled pulling then i would suggest the street puller. besides being a good cluch, haisleys are the most knowledgeble people when it comes to the ctd and are great people

I have the SB 3600 12cb DD clutch, with the stock hydrolics, pedal was stiff and hard to shift, but after installing SB's hydrolic upgrade, the pedal is like stock, and a real pleasure to drive.
but it is noisey, but no more or less than a haisley.

I just installed in the Haisley street drag about 700 miles ago in my truck. It is still on stock hydraulics and hasnt had any trouble but someday i will probably switch them out for the 12v type setup. It holds very well, but requires a little more rpm's on take off to make it smooth or else you get a little chatter. Overall quite happy with my decision.

My Street Drag has taken a beating and it keeps coming back for more! I've had it for about 25k miles now and haven't had any issues with it. I have done countless 1/4 mile passes with it and it holds fine and shifts very fast. You can see my power level and 1/4 miles times in my signature. I would buy it again without question.

Why not a Zoom clutch? They are a variable plate load clutch up to 4000 lbs at ~3200 rpm, but will go a little higher. Saw it on a clutch dyno at SEMA, where it showed 3977 lbs at 3175 rpm. All this done with a button type single disk.

The Street Drag should hold a sled pull here and there just as long as you don't slip it a lot when pulling out of the hole. The friction material holds very well and can be modulated/slipped some for smooth takeoffs or high RPM drag launches, but I don't think you'd want to ride the pedal for 100' with a sled behind you.

I not sure which is better but I do know that Haisley's build very good products and stand by them as well. I know the Haisley's very well(grew up with Curt) and like someone said earlier, they are very knowledgeable when it comes to CTD.
