SAMRTY Update???

Does anybody else notice that the Nov. 9 update all but removes smoke from your tailpipe? I used to be able to run SW#3 hit the tc/louck-up and roll some coal. Now I have to run SW#7-9 and it rolls somewhat. If this update was to help out with the smoke, how do I get an older version back? I want to be able to roll the coals......

I think that was the whole point of the new software... to get rid of the smoke and EGT's. Unless you saved any of the older softwares... you're stuck with what you have unless, you can find someone that can send them to you.

So how much smoke reduction are you talking about with this update?

I am running Aftermarket Injectors (for timing rattle) and on SW#7. This combo still does not even compare to my earlier updates when running SW#3. Before with Aftermarket Injectors and running SW#3 I could hit the lock-up switch and lose the car behind me. Now I have to be on SW#7-9 and the smoke still isint all there. I wish there was a update that removes the smoke for those who want to and an update for those who don't!!! I MISS MY SMOKE!!!!! Had I known this I would have kept an older update saved so I could go back to it and get my SMOKE back!!!!! I am also only running Moderate TQ, to save my driveline. Does it smoke more on MILD or WILD?

You guys need to stop whining about loosing smoke. Marco is now refining the software to be much more efficient, with less smoke and lower EGTs and still produce smooth power. That is what everyone should really want. The not released yet version I am currently running does not smoke anymore than TST/EZ stack and for that I am greatful.

Don't get me wrong, I do occasionally like to be able to black out a stupid driver. But I also get tired of having to drive with a very light foot when in work traffic everyday.

If smoke is all you want get a smoke switch or switch to BDTD or PPE downloaders. Just my .02.

Send Bob W an email, i would speculate he can provide a previous version....you have an 07 so you can go backward a version or two as there havent been any flashes (i dont believe).....i have a lot (not all) of the old versions (since the s06 came out)....so pm me if i can help....i cannot send the previous beta 4.4 however (per bob w)....

I like the cooler egt's, smooth power and lack of smoke of the new release and will use it for towing (dont do that much) and when the wife uses it, but am still addicted to the perfromance of beta 4.4 for daily driving (throttle response, smoke, hp/tq, aggressiveness)....i would speculate that the new release is for general driving / towing (no smoke, cool egt's, smoothness) and that the future competition software (assume 4k rpm, agressive, +230hp...) will satisfy those that want all out performance.....speculating the beta 4.4 is somewhere in between and perfect for me (built trans but dont want to do springs / cam / turbo / ....)
