My salesman @ the dealer told me that my truck had a limited slip diff.He said that they ALL do in the 11.5" AAM's.Well it's been verry slippery for a week around here,& my limited slip wasn't working! Low,& behold,I don't have one!!!
So.What can I do about it?

The sticker from the window just says 11.5" axle. The salesman told me that they all come with a limited slip.Thats why it didn't say on the sticker.I don't want a Dietriot Locker again.Too much banging,& clanging.I just want a good limited slip.

I don't have a sticker in the glove box.But the one from the window is in my hands. It lists all my options, etc.NO limited slip listed.I saw that it wasn't there,& the salesman said it's not listed because they are "STANDARD on the 11.5" axles."I looked @ the carrier,& all there is is SPIDERS!
I'll have to call them on Monday.

Back when I worked at a dealer the same thing happened. I remember we ended up installing a limited slip in a new truck after the new owner found out. Talk to the salesman and let him know that the promised LS was an important factor in you buying that truck. Take it to the sales manager, then the owner if necessary. Be fair and tell them you'll happily pay whatever the LS would cost as an option (probably only a few hundred dollars) and see what they say.
Find a new truck at the dealer and look at the price breakdown on the window sticker. See what the limited slip adds to the truck's price as an option.

It's not standard on 11.5" axles. I just bought an '06 and that was one option I had to have. I live in Wyoming and most of the trucks here come with it. It said right under the options side of the sticker, LIMITED SLIP DIFFERENTIAL. Your salesman is FOS. You should go back and make him live up to his promise. If it's a good dealership they will.
To the limited slip and gear questions.
Look at your window sticker if it says limited slip than you have it, if not go back to dealer and make them install it.
Your gear ratio is on the window sticker.
