my buddy has an 03 that idles at 1800 rpm's and right away droppped to 350, but the whole time runs rough and it hunted (rpm's) it has no codes.also it makes growling noise by or at the cp3.it has been doing this since summer.no dealers could diag. thanks

Possible FCA valve on the CP3 problem. Do a search on the FCA valve. There is a way to test it by unpluging it while running. Sounds like it is sticking.

can u swap an 06 fca on an 03?

 

Yep they will swap out. Unplug the sensor on the back of the fca valve and see if it changes the way the truck is idling like stated ^^ it sounds like it could be sticking. If you have a good fca laying around and a few spare minutes it may be worth seeing if it will fix the problem it will take you no time to do the swap.
