Rocker panels

I am thinking about having Line X put on my rocker panels. A man from a paint and body shop suggested not to do it as he has had a couple of trucks come through that had moisture get behind the coating and begin to rust the truck. Anyone hear of this?

I was wondering the same thing. I want to have my rocker panels done and the area above the wheel wheels.

If the Line-X is applied properly I don't see how water can run behind it, but ya never know.

I have yet to see a bed rust out with line-x on it. the same would go for the rockers. the sealent does just that seals the moisture out.

I would agree. I don't have any clue how moisture could get behind LineX or Rhino lining either one - that is unless it's improperly applied. Use a good shop that does lots of linings and I can't imagine there'd be a problem.

My neighbor also has it on his truck. I just asked him how he likes it and says he's had no problems with it. I'm not a big fan of the looks, but it's very functional for rock chips and such. I went with diamond plating which would be MUCH more likely to develop rust behind them.

I priced at one point and got two very different prices from Rhino and Line-X. If I remember correctly it was around 600.00 from Line-X and around 350.00 from the Rhino place (who has done all three of my beds). That was two years ago though . . . or course the economy was also a lot better then.

mine was 600 for the rocker qc with the long bed. I thought it was not too expensive considering the shop was working on it for just over 7 hrs.

I have heard bad things about rhino liner .
Line-X has a lifetime guarantee.
its great is you Drive gravel roads often.
it was about $600 CND. to get my truck done.
They said if it ever chips they will fix it for free
