The REVOlution starts here.
Hey Bob or Marco,
Can you put the shift defuel option on the regular TNT and not the vin locked race tune? Totally understand the RPM vin lock, which is cool. On the 03-04 trucks, it is really needed.
Thanx

Finally got our load unit working again and got some #'s. With the #7, RP on #3 and Timing on #2, TQ Management on #3. Mods in my sig. I pulled out 418/933. Needless to say I am quite happy as the only other thing I have done to the truck was install a Goerend VB since I previously put down a best of 393/791.
Well done Marco!

Ive got three friends 2 with 03's and one with an 04 none of whom are running a smarty, all have built autos 1 suncoast, 1 DTT and i believe brians is a Goerand but i'll have to check with him. all when they crossed the 850/900 ft/lbs+ threshold injectors and stacked boxes have experienced irratic shifting from time to time.
it could be TPS, but its definately not limited to the smarty. what you all have described is exactly what their trucks did/do occassionally also also.
Waiting to see who breaks a intermediate shaft first.
i'll keep my hand shaker

tcr,
you're comparing apples to oranges. Your 4.4 was a beta software with higher HP levels than Smarty's standard software. Erik has just that, the standard software based on the Revo platform. NONE of the race options in that SW!
chrleb1,
yes, can do, but is it WISE to do so? How many broken stock trannies would we have to deal with?
ddestruel,
thanks for the heads up! Anyhow, now I'm even more confused! Feels like hunting for a ghost now....
cgmorgan06,
right now it SEEMS that we're in the comfy zone with the beta testing. No new bugs have been reported for quiet some time now. If that's the trend then I'd say we can release the Revo platform in a week or a couple latest.

Could be, i dont know nor do i pretend to understand slushboxes. lol what i can tell you is that DTT and suncoast told both my buddies that their experiences which were very similar (identical to Erik's description which is why i posted this) and that they were not isolated nor unique to just them more so that those two tranny companies said it was related to the 03/04 trucks for some reason and they are still discussing it with them. there has been alot of dialog about the TPS and the factory transmission control computer and the potential need for an aftermarket control unit vs the factory unit. Ive had more then one person tell me that the ECM on the 03/04s doesnt control tranny shifting, can anyone verify that? what is the interrelation that could create this if the two are seperate units? if the TPS just offers variable resistance and then distributes that signal to the two seperate recieving sources. might be a good one for a seperate thread.
I just thought i would throw that info out there since 3 guys not running smarty in high HP 03/04 trucks were currently experiencing very similar symptoms with different trannys from different manufacturers i thought it might help you guys some in trying to pin point the source of the issue. it could still be something with the smarty beta you are running and the issues ive brough up may be entirely unrelated to what you are describing but i hope some of those tid bits might help all of you guys pin point what is going on.
Good luck hope you are able to pin point the mystery behind it all. I'll post something if anyone ever on my end determines something

ddestruel,
Thanks for the info! Good to know, but I feel sorry for Marco having to find this ghost we're finding out about!!
You can blow up at stock tranny with just level 9 and normal shift defueling. It will just be faster the other way
. It kinda seems like a pain for every customer that has a built tranny has to get a VIN locked program. It seems like more work for you guys. I think more people would like to have the shift defueling option available, than people that want RPMs. I bet more people have full built trannies, than people that have the head springs swapped out.
I've seen 3 transmissions (2 mine) KIA by the shuttle shift.
It's not a Smarty problem.
Long story short what I understand is the high Hp trucks confuse the stock shifting mechanisms.
The best solution I have heard of is having the trans builder "tune" the valve body to suit the truck as set up. One thing for sure is that there are no universal fixes.
There will be a lot of bankrupt transmission builders unless someone sorts this problem out.
Sort of like Aids for transmissions...Once you've got it its as good as dead.
