removing stock exhaust

I got an MBRP coming!!! Will the stock exhaust come off with out a sawzall?
( I don't have one) or is it gonna be a big PITA?
Im thinkin just start at the tailpipe and loosen one section at a time to work it apart?
Any tips????
thanks

Tip: Buy a sawzall and hand held grinder with a cutting wheel. Been there done that. You will need both.

I would only cut the pipe first to get it off. Then see if you do need to cut the hangers at all. They usually bend and slide out without a problem. If you cut the hangers, you will need to possible weld on new ones depending upon the muffler.

Sawsall!!!! Spray wd40 on the rubber hangers. It is easier to slide the new pipes back together first and put a jackstand under the tailpipe to stop it from rotating. Position the system where it needs to be. Slide the rubbers on the muffler and tailpipe hangers first then slide them in the upper hanger posts last. Then finish positioning and tighten clamps. I did it in about an hour. If you have a short bed you may have to cut 4 to 5 inches from the tailpipe so the tailpipe hangers mate up. My MBRP muffler kit took me about an hour by myself...................Sawsall and cutoff wheel!!!!! sawsall to cut it off and slicer to slice the old pipe off.....

I've used a air compressor with a cutoff saw. I cut the (muffler) pipe from front to back slowly so as not to cut the pipe under the first. Then spread the pieces apart. Then you can cut the rest of the system into smaller pieces, then use some side to side twisting. If you manage to get it off ,the install of the new system should be a snap

You could also just use an air chisel..where it is clamped in place..took about 15 minutes to get mine off after using it on where the extension pipe connects to the muffler..slid rear section out..then just undo the clamp at the turbo down pipe and shell fall right out...

And yes your going to want to grease the **** out of the bushings to get the new hangers back in...and you will want a partner to help you get that down pipe on also..almost impossible to get it lined up and clamped

good luck! and cant wait to hear how ya like it!@

I put on the exhaust and would not have been able to do it without the sawzall, I went and purchased a new battery kit with the sawsall, drill, light and circ saw cause I HAD to have it for the job, would have cost the same to have a shop here install it, F that. Came out sweet.
