RECON Cab Roof Lights
RECON Cab Roof Lights
I'm looking at a set of roof lights for my truck and wanted to get some opinions on them. Is anyone here running a set on their rig? How do you like them so far?
Since my truck is basic as it gets package wise, my rig did not come standard with any cab roof lights so I will have to install them somehow. Did anyone have to do this to their truck, and how did you go about doing it?
Now comes the realy hard decision. What would look best on a White truck. Smoked, Clear or Ultra White? hmm.
Here is a link to their site if anyone is interested. www.reconaccessories.com
TIA

I just put the clear ones on and all I have to say is have some clear silicone sealant handy because if you don't caulk the heck out of them they will leak. I caulked around the screwheads and around the base and still had a small leak the first time it rained. I will be recaulking them today.....
They look great though....

i posted a new thread earlier in the week about recon's resigned cab lights. they are now ready and available to the consumer. i was sent a set from recon back in the summer to try them out. they are 100% improvement over their last ones. these new lights have led's. fit and finish is excellent. no more leaks!!!! plus, they are now plug and play- no more splicing.
So am I right in assuming that I have to screw into the metal? What are you running the electrical wires to?
Im thinking the smoked lights would help contrast my white truck, im not sure though. Does anyone have a picture of them on a white truck?

I recaulked mine yesterday and I'm very glad I did. We got over an inch of rain last night and it continues to rain all day. I just went out and checked the headliner and no leaks!! WooHoo. The only problem is gonna come when I need to replace one of the bulbs!! I'm gonna need a putty knife to scrape all the caulk away!!!!
Running lights look so cool in my opinion. I don't have a dually so I'm not sure it would as look at good on my mine, but I'm tempted. I just don't want to put holes in my roof! Has anyone installed those without stock lights, from "scratch"? I might see what the dealer can do for me.
Just received the new lights from Recon to replace their old style. Easy plug n' play if you already have cab lights. My old ones were cracked and leaking until I used foam weatherstrip on the bottom to replace thier gaskets. They had shrunk during the summer. First heavy rain I had water pouring out of the headliner. Called them and got the replacements for a small charge. If you have the old style give them a call, very easy to work with and had them in 3 days fed ex. Ten minutes to swap out. Had to work the old bulbs out of the sockets, they had melted to them slightly. Too much heat from the regular bulbs. The leds and new smoke look awesome.
