Rattling with ZXT

Ok, guys I've had a zxt for around 3500 miles, and I've noticed a serious increase in rattling since it's been on. Powers great and no codes thrown just what sounds to me like exsesive (timing or injector) rattle. This is just the standard 65hp towing box. For you guys with it how much extra noise did you notice. All I know is at freeway speeds or any for that matter, no load and light throttle it sounds bad to me. Parinoid mabey, just wanting everybody elses thoughts on it. Thanks.

I have been running a Quad Std for 17K with no problems. I do get a rattle / ping when cold, but it mostly disappears when it warms up. I did notice that I got more rattle with Power Service, so I tried Stanadyne and it did quiet down a bit. It could be the added centene with the Quads additional timing.

Yes, that is Quad's "Stack" Version. I am running that now with the Triple Dog.

How much timing does this thing do? Seeing as how my va3.2 does no timing I thought the timing in the xzt would be ok. Does that sound right?

I've had the dxzt2 tow module on my truck for about a month now. There is injector rattle. It is most noticeable when I hook it up to my work trailer which is a 40 ft. gooseneck weighing 7000 lbs. and adding any where from 4000 to 14000 lbs. of load on it. My question to anyone out there { if Quad is out there}is it alright in the long term or a"m I hurting the truck or if the injector will start leaking etc.

I have had the same issue. No load, just running down the hwy at most any speed and I hear the rattle. I am stacked with the Smarty #2 and it is loud. I recently removed the XZT and put the Smarty back to Stock and the rattle is gone.

I was under the impression that the rattle was due to injectors at low pressure (I am only getting 6-7 psi) so I am getting ready to do a Walbro unit.

Any assistance on this rattle issue would be greatly appreciated!

Are you sure the 3.2 doesn't do timing? I would call and ask. Most modules do duration and timing. Edge, TST, Quad, etc.

I'm sure its duration only. That why the EGT's can get a little warm if you dont keep a eye on them. Thats why i thought a little extra timing would help keep them in check. But even with the VA off, where it is most of the time anyway, I still get the rattling. With just the xzt.

Then what you are probably hearing is the added pressure. The xzt alone doesn't do enough timing that you will hear it. Even a little pressure can be heard. You'll get use to it.
