Ram 2500 Exhaust shake

I have an '05 2500 quad cab that I have put an eliminator pipe on for the cat and exhaust. Since I have done this the exhaust has a really bad shake right after the transmission hanger bracket. Does anyone know how to get this shake to stop or to a minimum? Maybe more hanger brackets? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to forum. If you are just running straight pipe maybe a flow through muffler will help as the weight of the muffler will counter the shake. Mine actually shakes after the muffler and the only thing that has solved my issue is a rubber tie down around the rear axle hanger to the frame. I have realigned the entire exhaust system twice still no joy.

I've never heard of an exhaust shake issue except if that exhaust belongs to a g-56 equipped cummins. In that case the dual mass flywheel goes south and basically causes everything to shake.

just my .02

I'm pretty sure however that the 05 model year still had the nv-5600 if it was equipped withe manual tranny.

The G56 was introduced in 05 mid year, so depending the build date of the truck you could still have the NV5600 or the new G56. Some exhaust shke more than others. Exact same setup on my sons truck and he had little to no shake. On mine muffler back shakes enough to cause noise to echo into the cab at idle only. Off idle everything is ok.

My 2003 is shaking pretty bad as well. You can't even focus your eye's on the tail pipe because it shakes some much. It looks blurry.

Talking More hangers

I did end up going back and having more hangers put on, seems to help. It still has a shake but it is not near as bad.

Yeah, the exhaust resonates at just the right frequency, especially if you removed the stock hangers or changed locations. After I installed my 4040xl I got a nasty vibration in one of the hangers. The rubber connection between the metal hook and frame hook vibrates and creates a drone on the bed. Annoying! Anyway, I wrapped the hooks with tape to take up some room so the rubber connector doesn't have space to vibrate on. It 'fixed' it
