Questionable Pyro Probe
Just noticed today my pyro will not drop to 300*F like it has since the day it was installed about three years ago. I have the X-Monitor with trans, boost, pyro and it has always dropped down to 300*F or below in a matter of seconds when I pull in my driveway or were ever I stop . This afternoon the lowest it would drop to is about 340'ish degrees even after idling for a least 5 minutes with AC off. I checked the probe to see if it was loose and it is tight, I did notice the outer spring that slides over the probe, looked to have vibrated loose, so I tried to push it back tight as I could. Do these probes need to be cleaned every so often or replaced. I have not removed it yet to see if the end is damaged or not. Also I waited about two hours for the truck to cool down and went out and started it up and the pyro showed in the area of 350'ish*F at start up usually it's a lot lower than that. Thanks for any info.

No cleaning required and the normal failure mode of the probe is to just die and have zero output. If it is reading high it could be real due to an injector issue. What is the temp when you are cruising steady at say 65?? Is it the same as normal or is it high there also?
