Question about performance chips.....
This is what Chevrolet is working on with their "displacement on demand" engines that are supposed to be in their trucks in the next couple of years. Not sure if the duramax is included.. Good idea if you ask me, an 8 cyl that runs on 4 when it is on the hwy. I think it will increase milage somewhere in the range of 20 to 30 %.
Don't know if anyone remembers, but GM put that gasser "8-6-4" I think they called it into their Cadillacs and I recall it wasn't very succesful. The problem is the engine still has to deal with the drag of the dead cylinders and keep them lubricated, so they didn't fair that well.
Is anyone actually running their TST on 1? Is there some good facts on increased mpg using it? Anyone with that much restraint?
