Quadzilla Xzillaraider 2
If you are getting water on top of the engine in enough quantity to hurt sensors then you have problems. If you do it twice you have a LOT of problems?
I don't think it is fair to say that the X2 took out your RP sensor but, I am willing to listen and I am very curious how you got water up there.

ANd by the way, I said the X2 assisted in taking out my RPs, had there not been any holes in the plugs water would not have entered the sensor. Fair enough? No, your X2 didn't pop my hood and spray my engine down, I did, but let's keep it real Quad.
Quad I too had the rp failer do to water able to enter plug and short out rp sensor, twice. Yes I'm too blame as I do too wash under the hood. But was unawhere of harness issue. Then I noticed it. I did however call your tech and talk with Jermey to point out this manufacture flaw in the harness. Great guy you have there. Also had a X2 freeze up and you guys were great about taking care of this issue no ? asked. Hell you sent me a hole new set up.For me thats worth something. Don't get me wrong Smarty make a great product too. Just got to do what fits you best.
Thanks, Quad
Thanks, Quad
I've had a few Minor problems wiht the 2 different boxes I've had from Quad but I have always gotten someone on the phone (DURING BUSINESS HOURS) and they have resolved my problems, even the time I lost the EGT fitting for my Recon gauge, Jeremy sent out the part the next day to get me going. When I got the X2 box I forced something I shouldn't have and ended up pulling a few of the wires out of the plug harness, and yes it was something stupid I did, but the tech staff talked me thru the problem and if it had been needed they would have expressed me a new harness but I was able to repair it with their directions.
Again I have read of a few having problems but I would say call Quad and you can find out how good their customer service really is. Also as far as the water in the engine compartment I can remember reading of a few who have washed their engines and the truck will not run after. Requied much unplugging and replugging and drying out connectors to fix things again so it sounded to me like an on going problem with any system, not just Quad.

Yeah the X2 cost me a rail pressure sensor as well and I contacted quad with no feed back or help with the issue. I fixed the dang thing myself after the first time it happend. I miss my old quad race box wish I could get it back I don't like the x2 very much.
All I can say about Quad is that Jeremy has bent over backwards to help me with an old race box. I my book Quad offers great products with great service.
I have never tried the Smarty but have heard that it is a great product, the only problem with the smarty is you would need to pull over, plug it in and down load a different tune or setting which would then take a few minutes.
Quad = limited existing tunes upgraded on the net, on the fly changes, potential for a circuit failure, vibration.... since it is a box.
Smarty = unlimited adjustments on everyhing but the kitchen sink, you just need to download it, not on the fly and since it reprograms you computer you do not need to worry about a circuit board failure.

Jeremy has been very helpful for me as well, my question is not for Jeremy since he cant make the decision. My question to Quad still remains what about those of us who have lost a RP or even 2!? I don't need help paying for anything, but how about a little recognition of the situation, because as of right now as far as I'm concerned some of us(about 5 that I'm aware of) are being left out in the cold on these "leaking" harnesses. This is the second Quad Race I've purchased and I'm planing on buying the new Adrenaline too. I recommend Quad's products all the time and I've had very few problems w/ my Race boxes, but since this one is causing some major $ for some, it really shouldn't be avoided and ignored as it has been.
Well what I would suggest is those that have a faulted harness post it here. You'll know if yours is one that is not corrected (sealed) by looking though the plug end quad side to rp sensor and you see daylight with no sealer. Then lets see how the company handles this issue.
Now no bashing or hate please lets see how it plays. We could post this for a couple weeks and then forward a mass list to Quad. Then see how it's handled. I want to give then the benifit of the dought to Quad..
Now I did too have a faulted harness and yes it was corrected. Yes I had to send the harness in at my cost 2 bucks no biggie and they fixed it and set back asap. Now I got lucky that warranty paid for my 2 rp sensor but not the darn rental darn dodge sevice.
I too agree this can and is an issue since the engine is consider a wet location on a vehicle. So theres that chance. Any prevention is always good.
Just my thoughts and nothing else, take it as you want.
