Quadzilla starting issues......
Well, for some time now I have been having issues with starting my truck. It started out that it would start fine but the truck would have a slight hiccup after a few seconds and then all would be fine. Recently it has gotten to the point where it cranks longer before starting, sometimes gets a really bad miss that won't go away until I start driving, and almost dies on occasion like the fuel was cut off for a split second. One time it even started tapping real loud for about one second and then cleared up.
This only happens upon startup and only with the Quad box plugged in. It does not even have to be turned on. It also doesn't matter if the engine is cold or warm and it doesn't matter what the temp is outside. If I pull the box off and install the bypass plug I do not get any of these issues. I've had it off and back on the truck a few times in the last week trying to make sure it was the Quad box and I'm sure of it now. All connections are nice and tight.
Anybody else have any of these issues????

Mine does the same thing. It worse when I don't wait for the heater light to go out before I start it. As long as it doesn't get worse I wont worry about it.
BUT come to think of it, it only started doing this in the last month or so.(on truck for 4 months)

Had very similar problems and it started out minor then got worse. So I sent the box/harness back and got it reflashed and a new harnes from Quad. With the new stuff it was missing then went to a full stall and wouldn't start. But with the bypass plug it was fine. I was on the phone with them yesterday about that. As a result, I'm getting a new box and a new harness and will test the box plugged into the harness I have, if that doesn't help I'll plug in the new harness and new box.
The odd thing about it is I had the orignial box plugged in for about 8 months and it worked fine. The problems just started out of no where. So far Quad has been very good working with me on it. But it has be worried that its something in the trucks computer that doesn't like the quad. I'm not sure how that would have happend, it's not been to the dealer for 11 months.
I can post here and let you know how the new stuff works, it was sent out yesterday.

Since I don't have the issue with the harness installed and the bypass plug in it, I suspect that the harness is fine and there is a problem in the module.
I've been having a very small issue since I got the box but it was very minor so I didn't worry about it. In the last three weeks it has gotten much worse so I need to do something with it now....
I guess I'll be contacting Quadzilla today....

I have the XZT module and have noticed a minor stutter while idling and doesnt do it with the module unhooked. I just assumed that since the pressure was raised that it wouldnt idle exactly as smooth as stock fueling. Is this a bigger issue than I thought?
I had a similar issue that went away with the bypass plug installed, but only for a little while. Eventually it turned up with the plug in also. When I removed the harness to send it in I found a broken fuel pressure sensor connector. Quads guys fixed it up for me and now I'm up and running again.

Well, since the truck runs perfectly fine without the module plugged in, why would I waste my time getting a reflash done??? It seems this is a larger issue than first thought.
Since you don't mention having a Commander, this post probably isn't relevant, and it's quite long, but you might want to skim it since I do have a Quad std box, too.

Good luck with your issues. I know it's frustrating.

Hey Dodgezilla, any update on the problem ? I had a couple rough starts on occasion, but nothing major. This morning when it started, it sounded like only 5 cyclinders were firing. Cleared up quickly and ran fine after that. I checked all the connections and made sure I had no codes.
I got a new box and have not had the big issues with it. My truck, however, still always has a very slight stumble immediately after starting it up when I have the Quad installed. Hopefully it will not become anything more than that but that's exactly how it started with the first box a few months ago. We'll see.....
Mine stumbles too!! But nothing else, except the other day!! I was sitting at a stop light and my egt's suddenly went to 1k plus at idle? I was like what the heck? Come to find out there was a guy talking on a ham radio right next to me, and my stereo was turned down and some how his voice came through my truck. It was really wierd and my truck jumped too!
Anybody know what that is, sorry not trying to hijack?
