Quadzilla problems!!!

Saturday I started my truck and after it ran for approx 1 min. it started running real ruff and clattering louder than it ever has before...I turned the truck off and started again and it went away, but there were several codes thrown P0251, P0237, P0091, and a couple others i dont remember....I took the truck for a drive to see if it was running right...On the way back it started clattering very loud again and died on a off ramp...The truck would not start for several mins....I have a quadzilla xilllerator on my truck so i figured there was a problem with the chip....i took it off and it has not done it since!!! Is this something that might be in the connections, or is am i going to have to send it back to quad????

I would bet it had a loose connector, clean them and hit em with dielectric grease, also, if it has the data buss connector down low below the fuel filter assembly they are working on a fix for htat box, I am testing a new design unit that has cured a lot of the issues. This being salty road season any connectors not clean and protected are verry succeptible to getting bad signals due to shorts.

double check your connections then if it still does it put in the dummy plug where the box is if it still does it then its your wire harness, they replaced mine when i had wire harness issues. I would give them a call tho when i had problems they were very helpful

Quad Problems.

I had the ZXT Box and mine would work great for a while and then I had troubles. It would shut my truck completely off. So I took it out and put dialectric grease on it and it would work great for a while then it would act up again so I took it to the dealer and left the chip in and they told me that the chip was over-fueling and under-fueling. It would cause my truck to almost hick-up!! So I contacted quad and they had me send in the whole box and wires. I haven't heard from them yet. We will see what happens.

Good luck with that P0251 code. My quad threw that one and I now have a new Injector pump courtesy of my local Dodge Dealership. Its unfortunate, but i had nothin but problems with my Quad box and that is why i had to return it and am back to stock until i feel comfortable with another manufacturer. Good luck!

Thanks for the replys guys!!! Sorry so late getting back to yall i dont have access to the internet that often right now.....I contacted quad and they basically told me to use the dielectric grease to see if thats the problem like alot of you guys have already suggested.....I have not had the chance to try it yet but i will this evening........StealthRam did Dodge warranty your injector pump???? Im assuming that the chip is whats causing the P0251 code......That code gets thrown on my truck alot with the quad box.....

rjm022,
Is it the towing box you have? If so, how many plugs do you have under the hood? Is there a wire to tap into the throttle position sensor wire?

I don't have any wire that taps into the tps wire???? I have had alot of problems with my first xzt from quad but the second one has given me no problems as of yet. Other than making my pressure relief valve go bad.... It won't hold pressure anymore. The dealer is looking for another one!

on the quad zxt box (towing box)- there is two connections to make under the hood. the longest part of the install is running the wires through the firewall. i took my time, making sure everything was secure and that the install was neat and professional looking. total install time.start to finish-30 minutes.

Do a search for "Quadzilla Problems"

8 out of the 42 that come up are complaints and/or poor reviews with either the box itself or the service. Those are just the threads that come up in one search. Little less than 20%??!

I know this is not helping you, and I'm probably a jerk for that. Just makes me wonder when I see soooooo many people with one issue or another.........

Just the facts, not trying to pick on any one.

I hope you get it figured out.

Luckily Dodge covered my Pump, I had to put the stock airbox and intake back on before taking it in. According to them they would cover it this time but not next time because they had suspision that a "banks" product was used. Maybe it was the triple gauge pod or the muffler delete that the truck had that led them to believe that. They could have been BS'ing me, I cant see how they would cover an expensive part if they didnt have to. Have you noticed any power losses with that code, especially under load on an incline. Mine had no more power above 2k rpm and slowed down slowely on the grade, it was very depressing. Anyway, she runs fine now. I have a feeling ill be stayin stock for a while.

I put one on my truck about 2 weeks ago. Had no problems till I got out on the hiway. Running about 70 with the cruise on, it started to surge every now & then. Pulled off at next exit and the engine light comes on. Put the by-pass plug in and finished my trip with no problems. A p0237 code was set. Called and talked to someone at quad. He said that box shouldn't have set that code. Was told to send it in for an updated flash and a new harness. The new harness is comming with a wire to tap into the tps wire. Don't really like that idea. That's why I was asking if anybody else has this wire to the tps.

I have the tap. It is blue and just snaps around the wire. The guy that put it on told his other worker that the wire made a "BIG" difference.
