Wire should be hooked up during the test. That is the signal wire. Should see a difference between key on running, and key on not running, no pump running. Otherwise I think you could check the resistance to ground of the sender terminal same conditions. I don't know if they have specs for it or not though. They probably have specs for mv. I could be wrong, but thats how I read it.

Also inspected the harness and cannot find a spare yellow wire??? The only yellow wire in my QZ harness is one of two wires going to the EGT plug.

I'm wondering if the harness is wrong? Just to be safe, I'm going to check again for the 5th time just to make sure I'm not missing something? I'm willing to bet at this point there's something not right with my QZ harness.

Anyone by chance got a photo of the harness from a Quadzilla XZT installed on a 2003 Ram...I sure could use a visual of the wires where the QZ display harness plugs into the QZ wiring harness - I'll try posting a photo of my harness asap for further clarification.

(Forgive me if I seem a bit desperate, I happen to be leaving on a 2000 mile road trip in 3 days...something so simple has now become an issue and is beginning to drive me nuts).
I just did the same install on the same year vehicle with no issues (Pressure is reading about 7 psi idle). If you still need pictures, let me know and I will take some of mine.

I did not have any Gray wires, only the yellow one mentioned in the responses. I had no issues in installation whatsoever. Let me know if I can assist!

Here are some photos (best I could do with everything fully installed).

The first shows the FP sending unit with the Yellow harness wire.
The second shows the connections to the MAP sensor wiring.
The third is of the connections to the Commander harness (under my dash and tucked away).

If I can do anything else, let me know.

Harley those are good pictures. I can see the yellow wire, the T-tap for the blue wire( MAP)and green wire (fuel) and the green connectors under the dash. Is the Recon the same?

Wildbill has a recon and not a commander.

I see you have a Smarty and XZT stacked. Do you have the stacking verison of the XZT (pressure) or the standard XZT? How is this working for you?

I had to run out of town for most of today and tomorrow and will be back friday. In the meantime I had jeremy contact wildbill and he will help him until I get back.

It sounds like the harness is fine and the harnesses we have in stock does have a grey wire for the fuel pressure sending unit.

Just based on what I have read I would say the sending unit is not working properly or the truck has a crummy lift pump on it. I have had basically no problems with the 0-40 psi sensor sense we switched but, anything is possible.

I am hoping Jeremy can help troubleshoot tomorrow with him and either get a part right out or get it working properly. I am sure one of the two will happen.

I purchased the Smarty and XZT at the same time through DTR. Being that Larry knew what I was purchasing and the intent, I am assuming that the XZT is the stacking version. The combination is working well IMO and the power is fantastic. It is yet to be seen what the MPG improvement is. I ran a 700 mile trip last week without the XZT in place and got about 1.5 MPG better than usual.

Resolution Update...

Quadzilla sent out an updated display unit and fuel pressure regulator to my vacation destination...after swapping out the old with the new, the fuel pressure was now showing on the display unit for the 1000 mile return trip home. Truck's fuel pressure averaged "8" with readings fluctuating between 7 and 9 psi.

Hold on a minute...those of you who keep replying and bragging about QuadZilla customer service...do you have any idea what actually transpired regarding my personal situation with Quadzilla ??? For starters, having to identify a specific yellow wire...when in reality it was indeed gray was extremely aggravating, especially when I had to keep confirming it was gray! Then there's the issue with the directions which do not show how to activate the fuel pressure feature. Also, repeatedly re-installing the original components and then finally installing the final "updated components" while out-of-town on vacation was not exactly a thrill! And though this thread would lead you to believe everything was taken care of in a few days...I can assure you it was not! BTW, after inquiring what to do with the old parts...I was told I'd have to pay for the return shipping out of my own pocket

Did they charge you for the new parts that they sent to your vacation location? The way I see it, you posted this on the 19th at almost 4 o'clock pm. Quad replied within a couple of hours and advised you to call in the morning. It is a new product, and like any other manufacturer they want to get the product on the shelf asap. Sure there may be some miscommunications, and maybe even a wire color wrong, but without a customer (you) to call it to their attention and work with them telling them about poor instructions and wrong color wire, ect. how can they make the product better. Call almost any other performance manufacturer out there and tell me how long it takes to get a human! So anyway, from the 20th to the 2nd. thats 7 days without weekends. How long did it take you to post after you returned home? How long has it been working fine? They sent it to you where you were at so probably less that the 7 working days I would guess. No, maybe not the best situation, but I would say it was resolved fairly fast. What else would a company have to do to have you be completely satisfied? I understand about the shipping costs, but I would be willing to bet a call to quad or a pm will get that straightened right out! At least worth a try. I have had nothing but great experiences even though I had to send my unit back and go without if for a week or so! It's new, and that's part of the game. You are one up on me already!
