Quadzilla Fuel Pressure Reading...

After installing the Fuel Pressure Kit for my Quadzilla Recon XZT the fuel pressure on my 2003 Ram is reading/fluctuating between a 1 and 2 ??? Seems to me this is not quite right? Boost & EGT are reading perfect - Thoughts anyone?

Dumb question, but you did hook up the pressure sender and tap the rail pressure sensor right? Other than that double check all connections. Also check and make sure the unit has a good ground.

No dumb questions...appreciate the reply!

Rail pressure sensor??? I double checked and as the directions say I wired the wire with the ring terminal (from the quadzilla harness) directly to the pressure sending unit. As for the quadzilla blue wire which was originally intended for the oil temp sensor, I spliced it (quadzilla blue wire) to the trucks map sensor harness...wire "D" on the harness. (If it matters, I'm more interested in monitoring the condition of my LP then rail pressure unless it doesn't matter.)

I did call quadzilla a few days ago to find out how to turn on the fuel pressure option on the display unit, after getting the info...I was told I had an older set of directions and a new set had been recently released...now I'm also wondering if the fuel pressure directions changed as well or if I have it correct the way it is? I'll call QZ tomorrow & get a copy of the updated instructions just to be safe...can't figure out why they did not offer to email a copy?!

Anyway, I'll try relocating the ground to see if anything changes.

If I am not mistaken it is a yellow wire that goes to the fuel pressure sending unit.

The Blue wire should go to the MAp sensor so that looks correct.

Also make sure that you have the fiber washer under the ring terminal or it could cause the wire to be shorted by the body of the sending unit.

You did mount it directly into the CP3???

Yep, blue wire (which orginally had a male spade terminal) is going to wire "D" on the map sensor harness...

Stock banjo bolt was replaced with the QZ banjo bolt & QZ pressure sending unit installed into the top of the CP3 & through the fuel line "doughnut", right next to what looks kinda like another banjo bolt or factory plug of sorts...

The fiber wahser's properly placed on the sending unit, below the ring terminal...

Also checked the QZ wire w/the ring terminal going to the pressure sending unit and it is indeed gray and not yellow(???) Almost looks like the coating of the gray wire might be made from a heat resistant or type of heat proof material(?) There's also a small length of black heat shrink covering the wire and part of the silver ring terminal.

Menu is correctly set for Dodge 2003.

Also inspected the harness and cannot find a spare yellow wire??? The only yellow wire in my QZ harness is one of two wires going to the EGT plug.

I'm wondering if the harness is wrong? Just to be safe, I'm going to check again for the 5th time just to make sure I'm not missing something? I'm willing to bet at this point there's something not right with my QZ harness.

Anyone by chance got a photo of the harness from a Quadzilla XZT installed on a 2003 Ram...I sure could use a visual of the wires where the QZ display harness plugs into the QZ wiring harness - I'll try posting a photo of my harness asap for further clarification.

(Forgive me if I seem a bit desperate, I happen to be leaving on a 2000 mile road trip in 3 days...something so simple has now become an issue and is beginning to drive me nuts).

We will get it fixed before you go.

It may not be a wrong harness. Let me check in the morning before we panic! Occasionally if the wire house runs out of a certain color wire they will substitute it but, I have not had that happen in a while and they usually call me.

Let me grab a harness first thing and we will go from there.

Incidentally, is there anyway to check the QZ fuel pressure sensor with a multi-meter for proper operation?

Did you use a lot of thread tape on the sender?
I know that was an issue on the Commanders.

Actually I was wondering the same thing...When applying the teflon tape I thought more would be better...I may have gotten a bit carried away(?)

Before I touch anything, I'll test the pressure sender with a multi-meter & see what its putting out. Perhaps I'll redo it for piece of mind...now that I think about it...how many turns of tt is too little...or too much?
